I attended the unveiling yesterday Friday night, 18th September 2020, in Basel, Switzerland, at the official Ferrari dealership Niki Hasler AG. This dealer is representative of Carrozzeria Touring in Switzerland. The brand new creation, named Project Aero3, was introduced by Alasdair Stewart, head of Sales and Marketing for Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera Srl., Louis de Fabribeckers (head of Design), Niki Hasler, founder and owner of Niki Hasler AG, and Arturo Merzario, the legendary Italian race driver (now 77 years young).
The first car is based on an F12 and the owner is from Singapore.
Two more cars have already been sold. One has to bring an F12 or 812 SF as donor car plus Euro € 940'000. The build time is six to nine months.
First car built (in these pix) will be on display next week during Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace, UK. With the incredible central rear wing it looks absolutely spectacular.

The car is absolutely super spectacular. Showstopper and total headturner for sure.
Maybe the front is a bit too soft or not dramatic enough but head designer Louis de Fabribeckers assured me yesterday that they will redesign according to your personal wishes.
One can also order it without central rear finn and with a regular rear window but that would be much less dramatic and not so sensational.
It really doesn't need to be painted red because it is so incredibly crazy already, there's no need to further accentuate that.

I want a Verde Seabird one with Arancia Mykonos leather interior. Or how about Blue Pozzi with Cuoio? Or maybe an Azzurro with Rosso VM 3171.

I forgot to say that there is a rear spoiler on each side of the central finn, coming out of the bodywork at certain speed.
It also has two gas filler caps, on both side is one, one for normal gassing and the other to plug in the CTek charger. Very smart solution as in the F12 the plug in was somewhat hidden on the left inside the trunk and hard to access, especially when dark.
Race number 19 is an homage at the super-aerodynamic 1938 Le Mans Alfa 8C Touring Superleggera Coupé.

Together, as far as I understand.
I did not see them working.

I think it could do with a lot less stuff at the front

Marcel, thank you very much for your pics and these detailed information, much appreciated as usual. What a duo having both this Touring Aero3 and the Touring Disco Volante Spider.

Can’t wait to see pics of this Aero3 alongside others fantastic special cars at Salon Privé UK!

To Admins: as this car is inspired from an old Alfa Romeo but is finally based on the F12, is it possible to move this thread into the F12 model section?

I known about this car since Febuary via Sig. Piero the previous CEO of Touring and my friend as they were planning to unveil it at goodwood but got cancelled... so I’m glad it’s fully announced now

Loved how the rear look but the front isn’t for me...

Lastly great they are now using a unique Headlights unlike the one on my Disco Volante which uses the headlight from the 599

Front is a bit of a mess. Would love to see a darl blue one where all these vents will blend in more.

...I don't like it. I've tried, but I don't. My biggest turn-offs are the huge vents on the front (are they supposed to mirror the elegant vents of the original?) and the matching exhaust 'chutes' at the back. The rest is OK, in a 'modern Ferrari / Aston / Jag with a fin' way, but I'm just not digging it.

Still, always exciting to see passions made metal.

Whether it's to your taste or not, I'm thankful the art of bespoke coachbuilding is still possible.
Bravo to the owners and artisans

Simon I’m totally in phase with you! It’s great for the Automotive World (« paysage automobile » in french sounds better!) to have these passionnante customers, designers, coachbuilders and so on to keep these skills and passion alive.

For a period this branch of the automotive industry was going really low, but for a few years now several brands are making this work great again, and reminds all of us all the possibilities in termes of bespoke and design.
