you can download a decibel meter on your phone. Use this format Model/Muffler/Cats/Headers - Decibels 360/cap 3/ TS 200/TS headers - 136
I’m doubting your accuracy. My un-baffled Pur Sang Bugatti exhaust isn’t that loud. Image Unavailable, Please Login Matt
Are you saying the abs are not capable? Obviously that was not at idle, that was a rev Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Old thread when I measured CS style on my 360: Installed the CS type exhaust using 430 can and modified pipes. To my ears, the same as OEM CS system. Quieter than my former Tubi at idle and normal driving. Louder when valves open. Very pleased! To be filed under useless information. Based on MA cracking down on loud exhaust over the past few years(Due to Harley straight pipes primarily). Ran a very unscientific test on the CS style exhaust. Instrument: Reed R8050 Sound Meter. Setting used: Peak dBA measurement. At idle: 84dBA At 3.5~4k rpm: 94dBA Valve opens: 101dBA Placed the instrument at outlet height, 30" out, halfway between outlets. For reference, my understanding, open pipe Harley +110dBA. Never measured Tubi. CA limit is 90dBA I believe. MA not as defined.
My 430 starts up at 85 db and settles to about 76 db after 2 mins, both at tick over revs. Thats with Capristo manifolds and back box with no valves
If the Webmd gauge is correct, which I'm assuming it is, then 136 seems a bit off. I have a loud car, but not as loud as a NASCAR car....and I been to plenty of races. Current no precats, 200 cell cats (used to be striaghtpipes), Gruppe M excaust which is barely an exhaust....
2009 430/Fabspeed Supersport X-pipe raceline/oem/oem Gen2/122db Cold start (111 warm) Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Im quite confident that the measurement is accurate. The thing scream like crazy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You might also want to specify not just the measuring point but also whether this is peak or idle or like racers 3/4 redline
I measured my 122db cold start at a distance of 4 feet from back of the car with an actual DB meter on a small tripod. Not an iPhone app at an arbitrary distance. Btw. Here is the cold start on a video... BTW: Since the Fabspeed X-Pipe I have is the track version, the exhaust always goes though the X-Pipe at all RPMs so it really is F1 sounds above 5000 RPMs. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Other than the X-Pipe, Stock 2009. OEM 2nd gen headers, cats. Burbles and spits on downshift, screams at high revs. Only downside is a slight drone at 3k. Going to solve this by having Fabspeed add some resonators after the X-pipe before the tips at the end of the driving season. Should quite down a cold start a little which is actually a plus. It’s a little loud on cold start for the early morning. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I might be able to setup a go pro on my rear bumper while I drive at high RPMs. Can’t do it today but maybe during the week. I have a mount I can use. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
In the next cple weeks Im going to measure: Cs with oem exhaust Scud with oem exhaust 430 with oem exhaust 430 with oem muffler/capristo 200/capristo headers I have a tubi sport exhaust for the oem 430 i will try
It's worth noting that phone apps for measuring sound pressure levels (dB) only work to the extent the phone's microphone can handle the level. I had an app on two different previous phones for measuring suppressed 300 blackout at the range until I realized that both phones had a mic that would cut off around 110-112dB. Subs were no issue, but supersonics weren't showing actual levels. Be sure and research whether your phone model has a cutoff to protect the microphone (and if so, at what dB level) or just spend the 30-40 bucks on amazon for a fair-to-middlin meter.
Get a purpose-built decibel meter from Amazon. There’s no way you’re cracking 136 decibels. You do realize that it’s a logarithmic scale, right? Matt

Hey Guys, Decibels are very hard to say one way or another. I would be hard pressed to say 136. The loudest vehicle I have heard personally was a decatted straight piped SVJ and that peaked at 120 at 20 ft. We have a decatted 360 and 430 here at the shop I will get some db ratings this weekend as well! Look forward to hearing your results
