What should I expect to pay for a 2019 new in box and papers but no stickers? Thanks
Image Unavailable, Please Login Prices are inflated. But dealers are listing unworn (new in box), for $22-24. 2018-2019 slightly used are listing for $18-20. What they are actually changing hands for? Hard to say.. Great watch. Love mine (but bought below retail when no one wanted them).
Sure, suggested retail was $9K - unless you had a long relationship with a Rolex dealer, you were never going to get one at $9K (ie they sold the very few they got to their established customers only). They've been extremely scarce for the past 3+ years, and trading for well above retail... and it seems that has increased even further this year.
They're trading in the high teens used and around 20k for new. They went up a bit more than that but then came down and are sort of stabilizing but we'll see where they land.
AND... An exact comp (2017, used) just popped up for private sale. $17,995, listing mentions reasonable offers considered: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=766782
A few here deal in the secondary market, you might reach out? @Cigarzman and I think @Adamas and @flat_plane_eddie ?
For the OP- full MSRP on this watch was $9050 (may have just risen to $9500- I'm not sure). As dealers who sell a decent percentage of our goods to other dealers, what we paid for this watch starts with the number '2' (as in we paid over double full MSRP). Hope this data point helps you. Thanks one of those individuals contacted me; however, I’m somewhat hesitant to pay such a markup. It would be one thing if the watch held its value from here, but from what I understand they are starting to come down in price. I think I’ve decided to go with an 18 karat gold sub instead.
Thank You, I have been watching SS watch prices on different brands. They are selling for premium rates compared to so called precious metals. I thought you leaned toward gold thinking it will hold more value in long run. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
And I do prefer gold watches as a general rule. But with respect to the hulk I just have an aversion to paying a markup of more than 100%. Although not necessarily comparable it’s at least somewhat analogous to these guys paying 25 and $30,000 over MSRP on a Corvette.
