My buddy here in CT usually drives a FS RR during the winter then sells it in the spring, SO, I figured I’d ask here if anyone has or knows of one a few particulars 2014 year range White exterior Full size (not Sport) Open to interior colors Autobiography Supercharged Sub-85K miles lets say open to price ranges what do you have? thanks
Full size RRs are great winter beaters but the depreciation is brutal.. Smart to buy a few years old but not sure id dump it each season.. Seen this one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/283998926876
Yeah they are pricey, but hey, not my money I missed one for him yesterday for low $40’s (but I don’t think it was a LWB). That one looks nice but what state is a “great price” I don’t agree with lol
Agreed... My neighbor just took delivery of his SV Autobiography LWB It was north of $220k.. Im pretty sure it lost $70k in value the first time he turned the key. another cheap LWB but higher miles https://houston.craigslist.org/ctd/d/houston-2014-range-rover-supercharged/7185981241.html
Have a loaded black/red 2019 Autobiography LWB here in SoCal with 20k miles. $238k MSRP. Could get it for $130k. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Al, appreciate it. Would like to find a non dealer, private party car if possible. also, side note. I really do not like Miller.
It would be impossible for it to be a 238k MSRP. Only vehicle in Land Rovers line that gets that high is a SV Autobiography LWB.
I've got a LR4 that's been in the shop for 2 weeks waiting on a back order hose if you're interested. Right now it leaks a little. I might pay your friend to come and get it.
the previous generation is better looking and less headaches if you ask me, i have a 2007 hse and 2011 SC and will never sell either. same for the 2013 LR4
We had a 2016 Sport that left my wife stranded twice, and left me stranded once. I leased it for 3 years with a purchase price of $79K. After three years, it was worth about $34K. Meanwhile, my 2010 Land Cruiser with twice the miles was worth around the same money. There's a reason for that! When I was in line at chick fil-a once, suddenly the then 20K miles Sport wouldn't go into gear. Imagine you are in a line at chick fil-a, it's 20 degrees and snowing, and your car is disabled! Fun day! People driving by, angry, flipping me off, saying bad things about my momma. The culprit? The shift module broke. I tore into it in the parking lot at Chick fila and what did I find but a tiny, brittle piece of thin plastic that acted as the trigger mechanism to shift the transmission. Think one of the teeth of a plastic fork - it was about that substantial. I was totally P.O.'d with LR about that. I super glued a cotter pin in place of the broken strip of plastic - that cotter pin was 100X the part that the original plastic piece was - and the shifter worked fine. That crap is unacceptable. You have to understand that as good looking as these cars are, the internals are simply awful. If you HAVE to have one, you really need to buy a pair, so that you have something to drive when your first one gets towed in.
I've had several Range Rovers, sport and Full Size. I currently have a 2019 LWB SC and also had a 2018 LWB SC as well. Both the 18 and 19 have been terrible from a build quality, electronics standpoint and have had more issues than all the others combined. Make sure you get carplay (only on the 19+) otherwise don't expect to have a phone/nav/radio work consistently.
You bought the wrong one.. I daily drive a land rover but it looks like this and has never let me down. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Aside from the steering wheel falling into my lap on the highway when the adjustment gears broke on an 04 full sized, never had a problem with LR products. 99 4.0 that was excellent. 08 Sport SC was great. Wife currently has a '16 LR4 from new that's been flawless. I'll probably be hunting for a '12 full sized for winter duty this year.
Things that go wrong I've found, on both RRS, RR FS and LR3/4s. Steering "tightness" which is a lower steering shaft/knuckle, that collects crap over time if not used regularly. Leaking coolant crossover pipe (bad design that rubs and eventually fails due to this), suspension/airbag issues, leaky A/C lines to REAR of vehicles (there is a middle, and rocker line, the middle one is expensive, the rocker, less), the aforementioned shift issue, that little plastic fork piece, goes bad a lot, gas tank belly pans rot away, brake lines tend to go to if sat and unused. (edit, this doesn't even delve into camshaft position sensor faults....which could leave to timing chain and valve guides, around the 80K mile mark) People ask me though, "how do you spot a good one?" Dumb question. You buy one that has had regular maintenance done, and been kept up with, and that would be my recommendation for ANY car. Deferral = death!
We had suspension and A/C issues, wind squeeling through sunroof and then leaky sunroof, roof rack started coming apart, as well as an instrument cluster that blanked out and we had to replace it. Luckily all in warranty. You have to really want one of these things for the looks, as there is nothing else to have. My Toyota Land Cruiser sports 135K miles and looks like it did on the showroom, without a single problem other than replacing the radiator at 115K miles. That's a $90K SUV that is actually worth it.
Neighbors had a Sport 2017. Only car i have seen in my street leave the house several times on a flatbed. The wife had enough and now has a Macan S.
lol. My daughter's LR has been in the shop now for two weeks, waiting on a silly part that was on back order. It's finally ready today. She said "dad can we get my college car early, this isn't fun any more."
I dunno... have had an HSE, 2 LR4’s, Discovery and my 2015 RR SVR has been my daily coming upon 5 years. All have been fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Knock on some hard wood! I just got a 2013 LR4 from NC. Apparently there’s a leak somewhere because yesterday the floors were soaked....compressed air today to find out where and why. SMH
