The short answer is no. I did the risk adjusted maths when PTU replacement cost you £25k. Now that Furlonger and SS Autotech can rebuild PTUs to a higher standard than OEM for less than £10k, it makes even less sense to take the warranty. So many things ‘appear’ to be covered by the warranty but aren’t. I have had a broken fuel pump (3k) and a leaking water pump (4K). Neither covered by the NP warranty even though notionally they appear to be. Plenty of stories from other owners of leaking seals and gaskets on the engine and drivetrain which also weren’t covered by warranty. In short, they try to weasel out of the warranty wherever they can.
Was the warrantee an extension of the factory warrantee or an aftermarket warrantee? I have heard the factory warrantee is usually broader in coverage than an aftermarket warrantee, but I have only had experience with factory warrantees. Then mainly with MB and Porsche.
Thats an Abu Dhabi Grey one...I have a Tailor Made FF in that colour, its very rare, very expensive and one of the most beautiful colours you can find on an FF. It almost looks like bare aluminium when the sun is out... In general where I live the right FF' sell super fast at the moment, with dealers sourcing cars for customers that missed out on other FF's they had for sale. And it is a hell of a proposition at the current price point!
I'll tell you what I said a few posts ago I might sell the car OVER MY DEAD BODY With the KLINE exhaust this car is amazing! I love the sound and it just rips. Never heard of a more wonderful exhaust note. I will try to get some audio soon, I'm getting a new black magic camera and a new rode mic
So u bought what I told u? Exhaust, pipes and cats? Too bad the cabin is too insulated my old TR wasn’t as loud outside but inside certainly was! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got this control via tune of manetino but it turned it off too much power loss when u open it up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
though agreeing with most of what you write - are you sure about this? from following for a few months, there are plenty of cars not selling. And some that seem cheap that are not selling. The last auction on collecting cars was revealing and there is another one up now (Grigio a exterior, cream interior - 100k pounds as I type and it ends Friday). I’m sure I saw this car at a dealer (Macari?) then it disappeared and popped up again anyone care for a guess on what the hammer is at? https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2015-ferrari-ff-1 I get the feeling the ff market is not fast and there is a big gap between asking and selling price.
I'm looking at this car at the moment having realised the wraith I went to pick up was not going to be am to turn on the driveway of the temporary house I am building (luckily I realised just before I paid for it and drove it home) but, can't quite decide now v8 lussos are £140k and v12s £160k if it's better to go for a ff or a lusso given the prices are similar as I expect including buyers premium this is going to get into the £110k to £120k range. Any opinions on the this ff and which to go for will be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Pete
I agree that the market isn't fast on the FF, but it hasn't been for a long time. The same is true of Lusso, 488 and F12. Collecting cars is an interesting site that seems to have become very popular, very quickly. But there is a huge flaw for the seller in that the site expects fees from buyer and seller on completion of a listing however there is no obligation on either buyer or seller for the deal to actually complete. Effectively, because of distance selling laws, all that's being sold by the site is a qualified introduction between a party that claims to want to buy and a seller that claims to want to sell and has described their vehicle fairly. I know of three "sales" that haven't completed for various reasons. I think what's happening is that people are using the site to try and beat the trade in offer they have received. Sometimes that will work, sometimes it won't. They're also trying to move cars that have been languishing on "sale or return" with places like Macari etc. On that particular FF, it looks like a nice spec, late car and could well be a good deal. I think you'd be looking at £125k or so at a main dealer so I guess this one needs to be below £115k (including all fees etc) to make it worthwhile against a main dealer car with full 2 years power warranty and main dealer preparation etc. I keep being offered Lussos by my main dealer, the V12 seems now to be buyable around £150-155k but I believe that they will depreciate more than an FF now. I also prefer the FF as it's a bit more of an event to drive, the Lusso is a bit too refined for my preference. So in a couple of years I think an FF may drop 20-30k but a Lusso will drop 30-40k, especially the T. I fully expect to see the T being worth less than a good FF quite quickly now. But then, as nobody can predict the future, who really knows! Maybe there will be a left-wing uprising and petrol will be banned and cars crushed and burned while people dance around the bonfires.....you laugh but who predicted Brexit, IndyRef, Covid, Extinction Rebellion, BLM.........
I’ll join in with a guess of 114 + 6k premium. I think things have moved on from a creama being the obvious choice for interior. BUT for someone out there this could be the ultra spec car exactly what they want and have been waiting for. Quite rare. Get two of them in the bid ring and who knows. If we’re about right then it makes some other cars currently advertised look quite high. Thinking the grey + chocciliato. Even the cheap black one that does have pano roof but some silly alloys (always makes me wonder “what else”) at 112 iirc suddenly does not look so cheap. for the fee I’m not sure how it works but I’d have thought fee is post sale completion, as buyer pays? Tother thing is zero warranty. ... might not be much different from the crummy 3rd party option or even Ferrari power train which covers it seems only about 1/4 the car. however no come back if you find for example that the PTO plug has been misthreaded, whereas Someone on here said they had the dealer replace the whole PTU for them to complete the purchase. Main point is that I think to sell, these cars are being bid/marked down. I’d rather see more realistic sticker prices, but I guess the sellers occasionally catch a full price paying fish let’s see what happens Fri
Imo as we move through the years cars will become quieter and the harsher / noisier cab of the FF will be shone in a good light. depends on the plan you have for it though.
It was me that had the PTU replaced prior to collection as they threaded the drain plug while changing the oil. They wanted to send it out to be machined but I wasn't in agreement with that !! On collecting cars, on listing, the fees become due on "sale" from both parties (as well as a fee on listing to the seller) regardless of whether the sale completes. It seems crazy, I know, but somehow lots of people are going for it. They cover themselves in disclaimers - it's the seller's pictures, their description etc etc - which aims to keep them at arm's length of any transaction. For sure there could well be good cars being sold but just like anything else, there may be the odd one that's not and you have to ask why is a car being sold in this way. I would insist on an inspection from a reputable specialist prior to an auction completing. I'd want to do that for any private purchase so no reason why not to do that for an auction product. If the seller refuses, that's a serious alarm bell.
I tend to change just before the 2nd year of ownership so will not keep for very long. I'll keep a close eye on it but currently it's £106k including the buyers commission so not super cheap
FF market as well as other exclusive cars where I live, superhot! All brokers/seller have a hard time to get good stock...anything good coming in, sells fast! RS6...you can't get new from factory, as they have to produce 4 VW Up's to compensate for CO2. RSQ8...not available.. Used good FF's, at the right price...dealers trying to find them, as they have buyers waiting...
Is that america? Quantitatively cheaper as they are lower price (at current FX rate even) and higher GDP per capita - would make sense to me. I’ve only been watching the UK market and my comments limited to this. At £106 I think the collecting cars one would be cheap? It’s a low mile, late and decent spec in probably the best suiting colour. the last time one sold there it was £ 96k - blue pano roof 2015 17k miles, but the interior easily cost it 10k. given the risk you’ve outlined in start to feel my guess is a bit high.
GBP £112.50 +6K buyers premium My guess was 114+ premium. Anyone do better? Still think it’s too dear for a no comeback, no warranty stab in the dark. another data point
Agreed, it seems cars are all a little bit more expensive then pre covid, there must be so little suppl2they are all marking up
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-ferrari-ff-2/ 145k+5k fees... Once again a price not in tune with reality from BAT. Not complaining as I now feel my 35k miles 13 FF is worth 120k lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
After driving 2000 miles in the wife's ghost mobile, I got back in the FF for 200 miles yesterday. I forgot how loud and fun it is every time I push down the accelerator
