2004 Ferrari 57 5M manual six speed, rosso corsa, black/red pinstripe Daytonas, 14,675 miles, fresh belt service, was a no-sale at $200,000. pre-sale estimate was $275,000.-$300,000. Interesting market. Some startling high numbers, some surprising no-sales. One can check them out at Saratoga Auto Auction.

I think you said it best "Some startling high numbers, some surprising no-sales." Actually the "no sale" part is not that surprising ;)

There's just a bit of reality creeping in to what has been a buoyant market for some time.

The USA car market is somewhat insular on cars that are not 25 years old due to the import restrictions. Europe started to correct a little sooner.

Auction sales seem to be all over the map lately. Could be COVID related? A 6-owner '98 red/tan 355 GTS stick with 23k miles sold for $166k on BaT a couple of weeks ago. Also on BaT, a '95 BMW 850csi 6-spd manual with 31k miles sold for $152k. Based on those results, $200k for the Saratoga 575 seems low.

Some interesting results at the Saratoga auction. The catalog description of the IMSA Yenko Corvette was wildly embellished.

Eventually people may consider that overpaying for rarity does not make much sense.
The 575 M is a modified (improved) 550, and part of the improvement was the introduction of the F1 gearbox (unlike on the F355, for which the F1 gearbox was an afterthought, and almost at prototype stage with the implied shortcomings).
If one wants an improved 550, get an F1 575 at a reasonable price - if someone is happier with a more outdated and "classic" car, a 550 for less than half the asked price of a manual 575 is a better deal IMHO.
