Agreed. Probably one of the few "ageless" as well.

It is all in relative terms. You don't suffer depreciation of what you intend to keep (not sell). It looks to me that the investment made was never the actual car but on yourself and for that I commend you and anybody else that invests in themselves. We only live once.

I keep my cars with low mileage, not because I intend to "keep" their resale value or get more value out of them, but because I want to have them last my lifetime. Own 6 cars, soon 7. Two will be handed off to my kids very soon. After my lifetime, as you well said, it is their decision and it won't matter to me.

I can personally affirm how well this car drives, handles, looks and performs. Having cared for it when it was new and the following three years and now again at 50K miles. It drives as well, if not better, than low mileage 458’s.

Congrats. 50K+ miles and some track time...that's awesome! Best of luck with your next 50K.

I love the pic of your car with the P51.

I had to follow up with a picture.
This was about a week ago in NC mountains with friends.
Mine is triple yellow ‘13 with 41K hassle-free miles.
The RC one is my friend’s ‘14, he has ~62K miles and also ZERO problems.

My 458 Spider with 16K miles has been flawless since new; same for the F12 at 15K.

Have a 550 Maranello with 85K miles in Italy and with it only a water pump problem has stranded me for awhile.

Congratulations! I'll be be hitting the 20k mark this year with my 2015 458 Spyder Blue Jean. Not as impressive an accomplishment as 50k but a milestone nonetheless. One thing is certain... the 458 is SOLID, sounds terrific and was built to be driven.

I traded my 01 360 6 spd for 15 458 spider. last November. Loved the 360 but the 458 is on another plane completely. I could not be happier.

Congrats! The 458 is one of the best Ferraris in my opinion. I remember there was one for sale a couple of years ago with 124,000 miles.

New to the Ferrari world and just purchased my 2012 458 Italia in Giallo Tristrato with 22,000 miles on the clock. The miles accomplished two things for me. First, as the car already has pretty high miles, I will not be tempted to “keep the miles under 10K” or anything else like that. Second, I paid less for the car because of the miles and saved a chunk of money. The car runs great and other than sticky buttons, has no issues. I absolutely love the car and feel really fortunate to be able to own such a masterpiece. I will be driving it whenever I can with few limitations.

I am encouraged to hear all of the forums responses that are having a great success with their 458's and other F-cars. Keep the stories and personal testaments flowing ;)

Congratulations! You are the man. Most of these beautiful cars sit in garages because the owners are afraid to drive them. Nice wine as well, but the two plastic cups are disturbing an otherwise perfect picture.

    Hi Joe,
it's good to read that you did 50,000 miles in 8 years. I am not able to top this, but I did 153,000 miles in 32 years with my 1985 308 GTS Quattrovalvole. Still with the original engine and gearbox, not overhauled.
And at the time when I bought it, it had already 30,000 miles on the clock ...:) Kai

308 GTS QV...That is a beautiful vehicle, even for today's standards.
