Right. I was just discussing that with somebody else on another site. Max will start off the season as the undisputed #1. After that, he'll have to prove himself.

A lot of pressure on Honda.

Exactly. Verstappen will be another loud mouth Alonso. The question is will RB put up with it like McLaren did.

A good choice by RB. Now is not the time for the other teams to play it safe. Investing everything in just the cars is not the answer to winning 2019. The grid needs teams filled with drivers hungry for victories...not "play it safe" #2s. I'd rather see more "brash and crash" than "cruising and losing."

They must be holding their breath at Red Bull.
They have cursed Renault for the last 4 years, although I think they won 10 or 11 GPs with them.
Going to Honda is a big step in the unknown.

Much better option than Hartley imo...

They must have had a really good start with STR to make the switch so early in the relationship.

Word is, the Honda folks have been quite impressed with Gasly. It also doesn't hurt that he's already there in the Red Bull program.

Honda always look for a star driver on their side.

They had Senna, for a long time. Then they insisted on Alonso at McLaren - we know how that went!

Maybe they think Gasly will be a start of the future.

Could Gasly get his seat back with RedBull?

He's had a great 2020 season with Alpha Tauri.

Marko just mentioned in a post race interview that they have no intention to promote him to Red Bull again.

Reigning Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton said Pierre Gasly's Italian Grand Prix victory proves the French driver deserves a second chance with the Red Bull team. -- https://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/29825185/hamilton-says-gaming-buddy-gasly-deserves-second-red-bull-shot

"Firstly, Pierre is just a really nice guy. I think he has a lot of talent.

"I don't think he was necessarily treated fairly at Red Bull when he got demoted. It's not easy for a driver when it happens, so I empathise with that.

"To then build the confidence up in a not necessarily as quick a team, to build the confidence up, and to come on out with some really great performances he's had this year already with that car, then get the win... it's not easy to do that.

"Really impressed, I think he's done a fantastic job and deserves the success and I hope it creates an opportunity for him going forward.

"There's also... he beat the team that demoted him, so that's definitely got to hurt for them."

Has been obvious all year yes? Albon is now to me over rated. The racer in Gasly is much better. Red Bull will not win either title this year so move Gasly back and evaluate.

Albon is a very good driver.
    Problem is Max Verstappen.
He is too good for the RB16, a car i suspect to be same level compared with the Renault and the McLaren.

Independent of Max, Albon is error prone and inconsistent. He is simply slower. I think Gasly deserves the chance again. Red Bull have nothing to lose now this year.

I don't think Red Bull will ever be happy with ANY of Verstappen team mates.
That's because they only focus on their lead driver, and neglect the other one.
That's why a drive a Alpha Tauri is more peaceful.
Todtz isn't an tw** like Horner and Marko.
