You know I almost feel sorry for Hammy. He sets a new track record on one of the most daunting circuits on the calendar while obliterating his teammate (as usual) Yet all the media can talk about is how far Ferrari have fallen. This only goes to show that the Hammy/Mercedes domination is otherwise so boring that it's hardly worth mentioning. People still like to talk about Ferrari. So we've go that going for ourselves, right? Right . . . . .

PS. I'm through ranting about how stupid Ferrari was for silently agreeing to this engine freeze purgatory they have put themselves in. I thought they could use the weight of the Ferrari name to allow some developement. But no. They were the first to agree to sign the new Concorde Agreement. So this farce will continue through this season and all the way through 2021. A noncompetitive Ferrari could mean the end of Formula 1.

Right. The absolute truth must come out. Why shouldn't it? At this point the average fan is thinking the FIA allow Mercedes to be fast and Ferrari is not allowed to be fast. In the real world, perception is reality.

    Ok,

vastly different weather conditions and changes from 2019 but

2019 CL did 1.42.938 in Q2 and took pole with 1.42.519

    2020 out in Q2 with a 1.42.996

    Mercs= Good progress + 2.03 secs over 2019
RB = good progress +1.91 secs over 2019
SF = going backwards -0.42 secs over 2019

So has the engine debacle really cost them over 2.5 seconds, thats a light year in F! terms.

I fear another weekend of being lapped by Hammy and possibly Renaults.

Please shunt into each other at La Source on lap 1

    Tony

Tifosi:: yes. The Ferrari fan is really wondering why FIA so punished Ferrari
Non-Tifosi:: no. The non-Ferrari fan does not think much about the predicament Ferrari finds itself.

But the reality is that the midfield battles are really starting to make the whole race watchable.
Williams is even in the hunt for the back of the midfield--but then again, so is Ferrari.....

Sure, there have always been "a race within a race". But that's not why Ferrari fans are Ferrari fans. I guess you more or less said exactly that. But, being a Ferrari forum I expect those mid-field races aren't much to get excited about in this neck of the woods, so to speak.

There could also be another school of thought believing that Ferrari may have escaped a full-blown scandal and disqualification from the championship.

The "secret agreement" could possibly have saved their neck, so they can't race at full throttle for a couple of years, maybe?

Since it's kept under wrap, anyone is allowed to draw his own conclusion.

The bottom line is they agreed to something that has rendered them un-competitive. Bad agreement. The full blown facts still need to be revealed as to why Mercedes is allowed to be competitive and why Ferrari is not allowed the same thing. And by the same thing I mean at least be allowed to develop and improve.

Well I was surprised but also pleased to see Ricardo put in the fast laps and get on the second row. Did he out drive the car? Looks that way to me. The FIA should require Racing Point to get rid of the Pepto-Bismol pink paint...just looking at it makes me want the car to crash.

I know this probably won't be taken well here:: But

Perhaps Mercedes has not been found to have any parts contrary to the regulations or ways of using those parts that are contrary to the regulations, whereas Ferrari has.

That does not mean Mercedes doesn't have such a part or isn't using such a part, they just have not been found out--and having both cars scrutineered after each race makes it hard to hid something so obvious.

On the other hand, perhaps Mercedes really have figured out how to get more power from the same fuel flow everyone else is allowed to use.

Mercedes has just built a killer car this year and are embarrassing everyone else. Ferrari just dropped the ball and do not know what to do next.
