I rather grind away the inside of the 21mm socket ... if I am going to grind anything. Same labor. works better.

After much effort, I finally got the left bank belt on with the YELLOW marks matching.
Right bank timing belt I have not touched yet

What did I use to move the PULLEYS?
    - 16 INCH WRENCH with 4" opening
    - A LEATHER BELT

Slide the belt around 1/2-2/3 of the pulley and grip it with the wrench at an angle, opened up to at 4 inches or so.

Nothing else worked! You will need some muscle

Now My question for the experts, considering I have not followed procedure, are the Yellow Marks matching each other enough to know that these CAMS are correct in relation to the crank? Is there somewhere, something I can check to make certain before cranking the engine later?

Glad you got it back !
I'm not an *expert* .... But if you've been turning the engine by hand and the pulleys are coming back to their expected position every 2 full turns, you're good to go.

I think this is why my drivers side cam cap weeps a bit. Gasket was supposed to be replaced at FoNE last time but maybe they forgot? Belts probably next year and NOT by me ;)
