    In the early 90s I worked for the Beach and Pool unit of the Chicago Park District. There was an older supervisor who was also a PADI instructor who wore a Sea Dweller. He had been certifying the police, fire, and Park District rescue crews for decades. He always wore the Sea Dweller whether at a pool, beach, or diving.

    My 5512 Sub used to be my beach/pool watch. Then I found out what it’s worth. Uh, nope, not any more.

    I used to wear my 5513 to the beach all the time and go swimming and body surfing. Until I joined Fchat, I always thought the salt water somehow messed up my dial. Now I know it was from a faulty/experimental finish applied to the dial.

    Yeah, they used to be $2-$4k watches. Then the vintage boom hit. Now? I’ve see 5512’s in the mid 20’s.
