I'm sure this has been a topic before, looking to purchase a code reader for my 2005 F430. What do you all recommend?

    Thanks Tom

Are you just looking for a code reader or one that can do more like activation or reset items

    Higher end units

    Autel maxisys
Autoenginuity .. must but Ferrari (supercar) package
    X431 launch pro

    Less capable ...

Autel ap200 ..this is a great one car choice for around 60 ..no activation or coding .. has reset functions and some maintenance functions

    Foxwell ..

You can use Google search with terms above and include ferrarichat and you will get all discussions on that .. definitely worth the time to search and read

    E.g. search autel ferrarichat

Make sure you get it from launch or a distributor of.lanuch not a Chinese knock off ..the pro mini is probably the best value

Great stuff. I assume the x431 works with an FF too. Do we know list of car supported?

I'm afraid all Launch products are "Chinese knockoffs". The Launch companies, even the USA branch, are all of Chinese origin with the headquarters in China. The only non-Chinese scanner I know of that's compatible with Ferrari's is from the Leonardo folks. They have a product called "Galileo" that works with a single car, like a 360. The cost is a staggering ~$5,000 plus shipping. If you have two F cars, say a 360 and a 430, the price to use a Galileo is ~$7500.

These are the real deal and come complete with connectors to hook up to any system on the car and perform the same level of diagnostics and tests as the tool that the dealers have.

I personally have found the Autel MS906 to be a superior tool to the X431. Autel, another Chinese company, is one step up from Launch and has a corresponding higher price too, about $1100 for the direct connect cable version of the MS906.

If you just want a decent scanner that can read all the ECU's in the car, get an Autel AP200. It's about $70 from Amazon and is a very good option for 99% of F car owners.

Does this include the Transmission Control Unit with all values like PIS and various other clutch related "movement and engaging" numbers?

As stated above, does it show PIS settings etc?
