I wonder how that conversation at the FIA goes. You gotta wonder if his social justice stance isn’t impacting decisions. I just find it all so strange. Merc shows up with an strong PU than last year and it’s just accepted without question. If I put my tinfoil hat on, it all seems orchestrated at this point. Give Lewis everything he wants ... he’s the only real celebrity driver. It’s good for business I guess to have smash every record practically uncontested for the most part in this new era. It’ll be interesting if he and ‘Merc are around in 22 considering the the rules that were handed down essentially handed them next season as well ... perhaps to ensure Hamilton’s place in history. The lack of scrutiny... the raw and unfettered acceptance of the last several years ... just doesn’t make any sense to me.
Ah yes, this is one of my favourites (right after a few selections in the Book of Armaments). It seems Lando and Russell failed to capitalize. Those two chaps in Brit cars at Silverstone should've had a license to steal. Hmmmm.
No way! Where’s that from; was it broadcast? If that is actual real-time speed, someone needs to explain this. Or they didn’t install speed sensors right at the line—again someone needs to explain.
No, it wasn't broadcasted. I'm more than sure the stewards and the FIA have all the information they need right at their disposal. Lewis is untouchable.
Unfortunately the on-screen display is always behind what the car is actually doing. Post the video if you have it, but I'm betting it's .5-1 second behind what the car is actually doing.
I dont sense world - ending conspiracy. This is a routine measurement year after year after year. That speed was as you post. Time late. Id say the same if it was Charles. Post actual proof before this turns into politics/FIA etc. Max attacked the line pretty hard and had a small lock up If my recall is accurate today. Should I complain? Im not at all his largest fan.
[QUOTE="Top speed, post: 147378567, member: 240770".......strategy when he himself spineed.....[/QUOTE] Spun. Grammar please.
SB: ''I try to get out of bed and do my best ...'' (but the car is crap and the team dont support me ) Surely papa Stroll is not so dumb to employ this loser? He can spin that pink Merc too i'm sure.
After last weekend I would say this was a little disappointing...very slightly. Last year this would have been a great result.
Not that onboard camera angle nor with the telemetry superimposed as Joe provided. As for the potential "lag" argument, isn't this is simply speculative? It would be great of FIA would address the matter, preferably with incontrovertable proof. It happened, Ham was concerned enough to ask about it three times, so why not put it to rest?
These guys practice hitting the speedlimit just cm before the line in order to lose as little time as possible. Locking up the tyres in the fashion he did, you slow down a lot less fast... i'd be very surprised if there wasn't any overspeed over the line! 1km is enough to warrant a 5 sec penalty (irrelevant at this stage...but would've been very relevant in the GP itself. Had he had the penalty, Bottas would probably have fought a bit harder to keep him behind, or stay within 5 seconds of him after being passed).
I completely agree and understand. A lockup of that length screams over speed in. I'm not biased, if anything I really like hamilton, but I really felt he was speeding. With that being said we have no proof. It would be great to see some data on it. If he was speeding (which is my thoight) he should be penalized!
They measure an average speed in a micro sector. He can exceed the limit when crossing the line as long as the average speed is OK.
