I also have this firewall piece as well as the plate attached at the top of the rear hatch bonnet from Novitec. That’s how it should’ve been from factory imho!

The CF bulkhead is 0.360 kg/0.79 lb. That's a savings of 0.070 kg/0.16 lb, or a 17% mass reduction. However, some of that savings is because the CF bulkhead is a smaller part, and does not fully cover the firewall all the way to the rear window, the way the OEM part does.

My Novitec one does. What brand is yours? I wonder how the rubber insert is going to work if yours comes short?

Here's the next batch of Ti hardware to upgrade the engine bay, the rear decklid, and the rear trim pieces. It weighed in at 0.235 kg/0.52 lb.

The brand is R-Tuned. The rubber trim works to buffer the bulkhead against the firewall; it just does not reach all the way to the window. It's about 3/4 of an inch short, which leaves that much of the firewall visible.

Ti fasteners on the CF bulkhead. Two of the fasteners are hidden behind the CF side panels. One of the cases where you have to remove a panel in order to access the fasteners for another panel.

The OEM steel hardware displaced by the Ti hardware weighed in at 0.525 kg/1.16 lb, for a savings of 0.290 kg/0.64 lb, which is a 55% savings. Next up is more Titanium and Carbon Fiber for the cockpit. Image Unavailable, Please Login

In addition to upgrading the cockpit with Titanium fasteners, I planned to upgrade a few parts to CF, and do a thorough cleaning. So I started by removing the complete battery assembly, including the tray, and then removing the seats. It's always a good idea to disconnect the battery before disconnecting the seat belt sensor circuits on the seats, which can trigger an airbag code and a possible trip to the dealership to clear it.

Once the seats are out, there's not much left to the interior between the dashboard and the rear firewall. The wiring harness pigtail to the driver's seat is visible along the center tunnel.

Battery removed, along with the complete battery tray assembly. That gives me more room to access behind the dashboard. Also makes it easier to install the Ti fasteners in some hard-to-reach places.

I weighed all the Ti hardware for the interior, which is the last batch of titanium replacements for now. They weighed in at 0.355 kg/0.78 lb.
