It’s okay but nothing beats an IPE on a 458;)

I for one wouldn’t call you crazy at all. I get it. Life and your ownership experience have taught you that you’re actually a V8 guy. I can relate to that, same thing happened to me after a V12 (575 F1). It’s your profile as an enthusiast and owner, your personal taste and preference. I feel V12s are amazing machines, but too dignified, refined and poised to my taste. I like the loudness and the drama of a V8.

Even though I strongly dislike turbocharged and hybrid engines, and while I honestly don’t know which car of the two I’d choose, I get it. Plus, the 488’s torque can certainly be addictive. It’s one heck of a car.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

You captured my feelings! I had Ron Harpers 2001 Diablo which I regret selling. I had a Murcie that I could not wait to get rid of, very fast but way too smooth. I have had great experiences with the 360, two F-430's, the 458, 488 and now the 812. Reading all your great responses, I feel like many that you understand.

    Andy,

Simply put, one of the most striking and beautiful 488s I’ve ever seen in my life. I think I’m in love!

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

I don't blame you OP, I'm just the other way around with my mid engine V8 and really wanting to add the front engine V12. The best answer is always both :)

I love the 488 and find it to be an awesome vehicle. Does anyone miss the "flying horse" in the front air intake though? Seems like they could have snuck(sneaked) it in there in the center intake.

I love my 488 too. Put a Novitec on it and haven't looked back. Was shopping for a Speciale and almost pulled the trigger but deal fell through. Starting talking to a particularly well-informed guy at a dealer and he predicted that the 488 would come to be known as the best "value" Ferrari. That stuck with me, as I'm a value oriented investor and all around guy. Looked for a looong time and finally bought my 488 in June. Once I remedied the less-than-desirable factory exhaust I couldn't be happier. It really is a terrific car and yes, a great value for the $$ :)

Thanks! I drove it today for about 15 min as I’m having a hard time waiting on the wrap guy/detailer guy to finish. Had to show my kids too.

Ferrari in Atlanta lowered it on the factory springs 18mm in front and 24 mm in rear. 10mm spacers on the front, 15mm on the rear. Squared up and balanced. Noticed a slight rub when turning the wheel at its max in the parking lot today. Awaiting dealer response. Drove incredibly well. Love it.

1st observation when it first was shown :( 488 , Pista and F8 don't have it.

It can be done as an after fitment. Actually its easy but i think that it looks better without it.

Actually look at the Speciale also doesn't have it. The trait of these 4 cars is that centre section has a shape not a flat panel like the 458 and previous cars

It's never crazy to miss a Ferrari....except maybe a 355 with overdue timing belts.

For what it’s worth on this thread...I’ve got a 488 GTB for sale at Ferrari of Washington that I’m eager to sell. Full Capristo Exhaust and straight piped. Best sounding car I’ve every owned. Louder than my Performante. Only reason I’m selling is because my Pista is arriving. Loved my 488.
