A tyre barrier 36m long has been installed at the rear of the Turn 11 run-off area. That was the point where Kvyat hit the wall.

This weekend, we will be paying tribute to the legendary Sir Stirling Moss by carrying a special horseshoe emblem on our cars across the race weekend. This was a symbol which appeared on Stirling’s pioneering Cooper race cars during the early days of his career.

FP1 starts in 1 hours time. Weren't the RP brake duct investigation results supposed to be published before FP1?

Edit. the results just came in.

Pirelli went to softer tires, on a really hot weekend?

Tire Strat for Q2 would be to start on the mediums for the race.

Then on lap 15 thru 20 on race day change over to the hards....permitting no SC.

Definitely a 2 stopper at a minimum! Probably 3 stopper with the softer tires. Last week's softs and meds are this week's meds and hards.

Based on FP1 Leclerc is still 0.400-0.500 sec faster than Vettel.

Leclerc has statistically been faster than Vettel...this year and last year....whether in quali or race or both.

Vettel right “up” there with his next year teammate, Stroll. Given his performance delta to Stroll will probably be minimal don’t expect a large jump up the grid for him next year—especially since tRP will need to design their own car.

I think they're trying to do damage control. Last week's hards aren't available this week.

This will likely force a two stop race.

But the softer tires wear so fast that they're going to run short of tires for practice.

Nice going by RP in FP2. Ferrari again fallen off the wagon, especially Seb.

The Sky commentators (for what that's worth) were saying that Ferrari was running lower downforce, last week, to make up for the lower horsepower. Maybe everyone else jumped on that approach.

On the other hand, Ferrari, all through last year as well, seemed to do better on mediums than softs. With all the tires softer, this week, they're likely at a disadvantage. Ferrari likely won't come alive until they mount "hards" (last week's mediums?) -- which they're likely saving for the race.

    Fixed :)

Stroll led one of the Friday sessions last week did he not. Didn’t translate to much on Sunday.

I’ll need to check FP2 results then. But maybe best to wait for race results. Everyone gaining from their last week’s running... except Vettel maybe.

Stroll consistently beat Hulk by two tenths in FP2 no matter what tires they were on.

    Then again testing schmesting.

Do you think anyone believes papa Stroll would let Nico trash his boy? get real, under normal circunstances even without many time in the car, Nico would run rings around lancelot...once he become a threat they will screw his tyre pressions or do some tweaking on his settings....but even so, if they don't screw him hard enough he will still beat the stroller..
