Ernie he has what looks like an FPR where the IAC should be he was thinking it was 4 fpr's total. As stated replace both FPR's (#1 both sides). What ever those canisters are (#2) are unclear, previous posts show 348 with 2.5 ECU but parts diagrams show IAC for all years and ECU versions. This is interesting perhaps the 2.5 was different. Maybe euro not U.S.?
The problem is solved... It came from the FPRs, Mine are 3.0bar. I replaced the FPR on both side and now, the no more difficulties to start the engine when it is hot ! Thank you so much form your help guys !
Great! Fuel pumps next then have injectors cleaned and rebuilt then replace relays. Then you will never have to worry about fuel related issue for the next 30 years. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/injector-and-rail-refurbish.607866/ https://ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/fuel-pump-replacement.616651/ https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/footpad-fuse-panel-relays.594744/
The fuel quantity sender is a sh..t! Mine has a very bad precision... and the low level light turns on when there is 1/3 of the full volume. If you have a solution......
Marc, there's a guy on the Club Scuderia website (UK) who is developing them (for the 355). If you have problems with that website (many people do), I'll ask him him if it's ok for me to send you his email address (in a Private Conversation). Note that the 355 and the 348 have the same sender, but he's only tested it on the 355. Note also, for 355 owners, there is an additional (separate) fuel level processor on the 355, so some fuel indication problems would have to be diagnosed first to eliminate that as a probable cause. Also, the 355 doesn't use the low fuel level light contacts of the sender. The fuel level processor triggers the light based on quantity signals. I'll ask the developer if his sender has a low level switch for the 348.
Marc, the developer, Brian Robbins, has just confirmed that the sender is compatible with the 348. There is an optional fitment tool (i.e. extra cost). I'll give you his email in PM. Even if you can find an OEM version, apparently this one is an improvement on the OEM version and cheaper.
Rock auto has them standard products PR161 also mentioned in post #16 in this thread. Pretty much everywhere has them. Not too hard to find. https://www.amazon.com/Standard-Motor-Products-PR161-Regulator/dp/B000C7ZSM6 Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
One guy on Fchat ordered 2 FPR in USA and sent to me in Europe, because there were not available here. I suppose you can order the FPR on Rockauto.
In Europe, you can get the Bosch 0 280 160 731 (that superseded 0 280 160 715) here: https://www.rendcarparts.com/en/search/search (Volvo 960). I also just saw this inexpensive Herko PR4061 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Fuel-Pressure-Regulator-Herko-PR4061-For-Various-Vehicles-72-98-3bar/381699070900?epid=253828346&hash=item58df099bb4:g:r8wAAOSwRwxcgU5d) which cross references to Bosch 0 280 160 731 and also shows "Ferrari 348 GTB 348 GTS, 348 Spider 348 TB 348 TS". I don't know the quality of Herko products but they are US made, Florida.
When you replace these, is it a simple swap out, or do you have to purge the lines after.....prior to starting engine?
OK, so I'm not really having any hot start problems, but since these items were cheap I figured I'd put some new ones on for good measure. I ordered a couple PR161 from Rock Auto as suggested. I went to put them on today and low & behold they are not correct. I didn't know there are 2 different styles. The fuel line from the pump on my 91 TS is threaded, not push on (pics below). Anybody know where this version can be found? Is there a common replacement part # that Rock Auto might carry? The factory # is 147281. There are 2 pressure regulators for different year split , one with a barb and one with 2 threaded fittings. The PR161 mentioned in this thread for this car is the is the 3.0 BAR. The PR298 (I think) is the 3.8 BAR, typically 92 on, SS and Spiders generally.
Yep get a return label and get the other ones, simple. While the fuel is disconnected pull the injectors and have them cleaned. I sent them out and go them back in 1 week. I used Mr. Injector and while waiting I power-coated the fuel rails.
The connection on the FPR that is either push-on or threaded is for the return line to the tank (practically no pressure in it), not the line from the pump to the FPR.
