I was driving my 550 last night and the FCS light would come on and go out. Is this something to be concerned about?

I know this has been discussed a lot.. my light started coming on now that the weather is warmer. When I had the car delivered the fuel cap was missing... now starting to wonder if the PO removed the cap to allow the tank to vent. Light comes on after driving in hot weather for extended periods and stays on.... then I park let the car cool down it doesn't come on again until everything heats back up.... which leads me to believe its legit not functioning as designed. If the Freon pressure is low it would most likely always be on no? Is there a sensor that measures return fuel temperature? I guess no harm in getting a boost in the Freon and see if it helps..

Might keep you from trashing your compressor, too, even if you do not need the AC.

AC blows super cold but I could have a pinhole leak

A pinhole leak will drain an AC system pretty quickly.

That's what Im thinking since its high pressure refrigerant, I'll get the shop to do a leak down test... do the FCS cannisters commonly fail in these cars?

On mine, the light would come on and then go out every few minutes.

Had my refrigerant replaced, full 800 grams came out... so no leak. Had the refrigerant replaced, and on the drive home (warm day) the FCS came back on.... guess it could be a sensor or the FCS ecu

Does anyone know the location of the solenoid?
