Yeah great car the Cayenne Turbo. Love it. I wouldn't part with mine - you can take it and leave it anywhere. Fantastic machine. The latest one is incredible. It gives a lot of car for the money.

Since 2012 the Collection of Miami held a driving experience at Homestead Speedway of which I had the opportunity to drive subsequent year MaC models. I agree great performers, but the Pista won me over.

To me the ultimate stealth car is the MBZ E 63 AMG S wagon I am waiting to order one for my wife ,after all as fast as most top sports cars and then I can take it to the grocery store and it drives just like the sedan ,unparalleled IMO!

I have an M8 for a daily. It’s a blast to drive, relatively inconspicuous, fast enough for daily duties and comfortable. It was relatively cheap as well. I think I paid 126k new.

Not saying Porsche isnt a great daily. It is. But when you are in the turbo, you are like every other Porsche out there. A gt3 you have the NA and manual. An RS you have that big fat wing. But with the turbo- it’s just too same as everything else out there. Great car - don’t get me wrong it’s a beast. But to me it’s just over priced for what it is.

488 prices in Canada are holding fairly stable for a model that is 4 years old and been replaced by 2 new models. No bargains available. 50 are for sale with the average price - $340K CAD ( $255KUS). 6 are being sold below $300K CAD( $225KUS). - all except one is 2016

    720S- 30 for sale
    9 under $ 299KCAD( $225KUS) Two well optioned examples for sale at $225KCAD ( $168KUS). Two others at $249KCAD- ($187KUS) The balance between $279KCAD- ($208KUS) to $289KCAD( $215US).

Amazing bargain for a still current model. All low mileage.

Would make me think about one vs an F8. Some slight mods and you have something special

The 720s would need some significant mods to minimize the overly compliant and refined driving dynamics to suit me. The F8 feels significantly more engaging and compelling with greater suspension and steering feedback.

I thought the 720 was pretty darn good especially the suspension in race mode. All a matter of personal taste I guess.

I always drive mine in Track Mode with Manual shifting and the 720 is very darn good. F8 was very similar in driving capability, speed and compliance. The 720 handles better as the carbon tub feels lighter and more nimble.

  13. My goodness.

    A 720s for $168k USD?

I don't think I've seen any 720s in the US dropping that much below the 200k mark.

    That's an insane buy.

The 720S was predominately driven in track mode and manual. Still not sufficiently thrilling. The 765 will undoubtedly improve upon the technical excellence of the 720S, and due to its track focused and raw pedigree, elevate the driving dynamics by an order of magnitude. My anticipation for the 765 is extremely keen.

Funny. The 720 and F8 to me were very similar. If anything the F8 felt softer than the 720. Regardless, both great cars nonetheless.

I'm surprised the 720s are so low, 570s are in the mid 150s in the US. Also no more new 720s except a few in stock at dealers.

570S in Canada can be had for $150- 165 KCAD ( $120KUS). Only 15 for sale.

    Interesting that 675 has increased in price over the last 6 months. 5 available. Prices range $325KCAD ( $247KUS) - $425KCAD ( $320KUS).

The “softness” of the 720S intrigues me. My roads suck, usability is important. I miss living in PV full time where I didn’t have to worry about 2 ft deep potholes.

Its not soft. 4500 miles under my seat tell me its anything but soft but also I guess depends on how you drive it

The few times I’ve drove it, the longest being a weekend in Chicago, I thought it handled the road imperfections quite well, in the right setting.

The sound of both of both those cars is downright atrocious. Not only muted but the tone is grating.

On F8 I honestly had to double check on couple of occasions to make sure that the suspension hadn't returned itself to bumpy road as it felt so soft with a surprising amount of body roll on the initial turn in which I thought was very uncharacteristic for the type of car it was.

In comparison I found 488 to have less roll in the front end but the overly twitchy steering always felt fake, like it was trying to make the car feel sporty and the stupid fake twitchiness only served to compromise the entire feedback and feel and made it unnecessarily difficult to produce a nice smooth progressive arc through the corner. F8's steering is just SO much better and I really thought it was a key standout improvement in the car. The F8 turns really well and steers with great feedback - loved it.

And while 488's suspension didn't feel as soft as F8's I put that down to F8's resolution of the previous flawed suspension in 488 but the bi product has left what I would call an overly refined and luxurious feel. 488's suspension OTOH felt unresolved and unnecessarily crude at certain times during a drive especially in comparison to other brand sports cars which produce a sporty suspension feel but don't feel unresolved at all. F8's suspension no longer feels unresolved but it does lack a sporty enough feel for the type of car it is. It just needs more engineering work to find the right balance so it feels sporty to match the car.

With Pista the suspension is very resolved in feel (just like F8's) but it rides flatter and feels sportier without any harshness. Pista definitely rides more like a road car than a track focused car yet is not compromised and in this sense F8 would have gained a lot of benefit by using a similar set up rather than going as soft and luxurious as it largely conflicts with the overall intent of the car. To say a Mac feels softer is not something I would agree with in this case.

I figured I might bump this value thread with a recent data point on the Pista market. This week I purchased a 260 mile Pista with a $454,835 MSRP for $461,500. The market changed substantially over the last 6 months. I probably paid roughly $50,000 more than what a similar car could have been acquired for as recently as Dec 2020. This overpay was partially offset by the fact that I received $50,000 more for my Performante than I could have expected 6 months ago. Ultimately, I wanted the car and I paid the price it took to acquire it.

Notably, I connected with dealers on 5 other cars. Each of those cars were great spec, sub-600 mile cars. Not a single dealer was willing to negotiate whatsoever off of their online price. In the final analysis, in late spring 2021, it’s a sellers market. If you have a trade, you are probably going to be OK (pay too much, get too much). If you are adding a car, rather than replacing a car, strap in...
