Picked up my first Ferrari two weeks ago - 2015 458 Spider. I picked up a set of used 458 wheels powder coated black that I am going to put on the car. I need tires for the replacement wheels. Wish I could get Michelin Cup 2 (like I have on my GT3 Touring, GT3 RS and GT4) but the OEM size is not available in Cup 2.

Should I go with original equipment P Zero or something different like Michelin Pilot Sport 4S?

Just put on those Michelin Ps 4s. I love them.

Michelin Pilot 4S....look no further. The best by far, when looking at 80% street, 20% track tires.

The Cup 2's wear out too fast (heat cycle out), the 4S's last a long time. Further, a tad bid lower grip is more fun anyhow. (The 4S's slide quite a bit until they warm up, then they are about perfect for the car's power level IMO)

Definitely go with PS4S. I default to them whenever possible on all my cars

If street tires, go with 4S.

Cup2s are not good in wet or lower temps. And they don’t come in the right sizes for a 458.
The side slip control is very sensitive to tire diameter differences front to rear. Some say no problems running Cup2 sizes for a Speciale, but to come closest to 458 OEM diameter ratios front to rear, you need to go to 315 instead of 305 rears. That may satisfy the SSC, but you might have more understeer by going wider in the rear vs front staying the same.

Agree, definitely MPS4S. I love these tires on my 458.

Would you run that tire on the Speciale if you don't track? Thinking after my Cup2s are toast

Here in SoCal we have 0 concern for rain/inclement weather/cold conditions, but since I'm not tracking the car I might like the lower grip and more all around nature of the MPS4S (love the tires on my 911)
