Got home a couple days ago with my new to me toy. 1985 Ferrari 308QV. Had to give up a car I loved dearly to purchase this one, so let's hope I made the right call.

Whatever you sold to get this 85 308 QV was the right choice:)
Congrats! She looks awesome, I see the PO converted the side louvers
To make it look like the GTB style. How many miles on it?

Only you can answer that question. If you open a garage door just to see a red Ferrari sitting there and you do it repeatedly, you made the right call. These spectacular machines are not for everyone. They will bring you the highest of highs and, perhaps, even the lowest of lows with sporadic fits of paranoia; What was that noise? Should the oil pressure be that low or that high or is that correct? Is this a reliable car? How are those fuel hoses? I wonder how much work I could do myself?

You get the point. The bottom line is, regardless of what you surrendered, you made a choice that will afford you the opportunity to experience a Ferrari, a real Ferrari, sitting in your garage and ready to embark on the open road. Enjoy. Be proud. Let us know your experience as we are in this together,

Wow. Very happy for the new owner but still a stab in my heart. Guess we all sooner or later will pass the torch. Sounds like it couldn’t have gone to better Custodian.

This is what I gave up. 2012 Porsche Turbo S.

    I loved this car.

Coming from a modern / fast Porsche, it will take some time to transition, but yes, I go to the garage just to stare. I constantly look at the pics.

I've loved the 308 since I was a kid. Had models and matchbox cars. Watched Magnum P.I. . All the usual stuff you hear on here I'm sure.

My all time favorite car in the World is the 288 GTO, due to the styling of the 308. So, I've had this on the brain for 40+ years.

    :)

Pics above of my Turbo S I had to part with. Thank you!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I'm sure I'll need help in the future. Luckily the previous owner is an awesome wealth of knowledge and the builder should be too.

    Had a 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S.

    Thanks!!

Yes, the PO (Crowndog) did a complete build. I'm sure you've seen his thread from 2012 - 2013.

About 10K miles on the whole restoration / engine build.

Yes when I picked it up in Canada. And a short drive near home. I think you can see it at the end of the build thread.

Congratulations! You will love her. I have had my 1985QV for 8 years myself and love my car more than any other special car I have owned. Only rarely has she frustrated me with her oddities and the highs have been many more than the lows. Enjoy your beautiful 308!
