I'd just make it mechanically sound and drive it ratty for a while. it's likely single stage paint. The places where it's chipped and peeling are pretty bad, but the rest might come back pretty well with a little TLC.

Plus I've been a little sidetracked in the health department.

Not as bad as your story, but I lost a lot of hours and gained a lot of gray hair in the process!

David, I believe that was my fathers car....he owned it in the UK until about 1980. I’ll have to dig out the details and pictures. I know his was exported to NZ shortly after he sold it.
    Cheers

    Hi Mark,
Well of course this got me very interested and so digging through the file, which is very extensive, I see your fathers name on some invoices. Looks like after your father's ownership (ending he thinks in 84/85) there was "Bearmach" (London) Ltd in Cardiff, and then a Tom Gallagher who sold it to a Mr Alec Looney in Feb 86 for £9075. Mr Looney exported it to NZ. Your father tracked down and wrote Mr Looney a note in November 88 with attached photo of TUW35S.
    Fantastic to connect the dots.
The car has had an extensive history in NZ since 86 with quite a few owners. The last of which sadly passed away and I bought it from his widow. He loved the car and kept it in very good order. Currently at 86000 miles and going strong. I've had it about 18 months and after a bit of sorting carbs and starter motors, I'm just figuring out how to get the best from it, and am thoroughly enjoying the early morning blasts.
    Dave.

I remember seeing my first ever GT4, late ‘80’s, walking along Customs St in Auckland CBD. Yellow. Sounded amazing. Certainly left an impression as I now own one (but alas not yellow).

Not really sure how many yellow Dino's in NZ, but could have been this one. It stayed in Auckland for a while before moving around the country.

Dave, great to hear from you and come full circle on TUW35S! Looks like the car is still in good shape. It was his first of several Ferraris and much coveted by me! I drove it quite a lot while we had it. It’s the main reason he and I clubbed together to get another about 18 years ago - 13980

Great cars and I’ll probably keep mine indefinitely. For sure a better drive than my 328 just sold. I’ll pull out some of the other photos and records I have on yours but that will have to wait til I get back to the UK later this year.
    Cheers

Hello Gents (and Ladies, if any), a new one to add to the list.

I just acquired 08004, engine #28. A very early 1974 Euro car. Number 35 off the line, I believe. Red over non-standard interior currently. I know nothing about the car, so if anyone can provide database info to confirm original interior/exterior colors, etc., I would be extremely grateful.

The first thing that will be happening is a thorough mechanical sorting, followed by trying to get everything back as it should be cosmetically.

An air-cooled Porsche guy historically, this is my first Ferrari, so I will most certainly be coming here for A LOT of help!

    Thank you.
