Yes agreed, and LH pulling laps like that in those conditions, will certainly help him in negotiating his worth in pay talks, an outstanding example of cream rising to the top.
I wouldn't be surprised if Leclerc's management (Nicholas Prost?) already started prospecting and building bridges with other teams and sponsors. There may be no opening from him elsewhere at the moment, but it could be useful to put Leclerc on several teams' wish list.
If they hadn't tested it the wet previously i can imagine it was maybe too risky ,he had his hands full keeping it on the road.
Wish they would give Vettel a mask that actually fits , yes its a small thing i know but you dont see eg Lewis constantly have to play with it to stop it falling off.Attention to detail!
Just squeezing some citrus for my Margarita...... If Lewis had done a pirouette AND gotten that time, I’d be impressed.... Neither Stroll nor Latifi qualified last/crashed/spun out and you don’t hear me crowin’ like a rooster..... ..
I was thinking of that video you posted a long time ago when I saw the rain yesterday. Then came Q1 and Lewis was for the longest time in the bottom five only to get going to like 5th. I was confused. I suppose he was either sand bagging or trying out different things. And then Q3 and the last 3 minutes. Sector after sector, nothing but purple. And he kept beating his own record. I was thinking, geesh, stop it already, keep the car in one piece please.
[ I put that lap in the same category as Senna's first lap at the European GP at Donnington back in the days. Truly unbelievable!!
What was also interesting to note was the focus of Hamilton: In a Kimi like move he told his engineer to politely buzz off. No whining, talking and complaining from Lewis as he so often does. Just radio silence. In stark contrast to Verstappen who was constantly bitching about the conditions. Total difference of focus. And I'm saying that as a huge Mad Max fan.
