Covid (and no doubt other bugs still to come) are likely to be with us forever - WE need to adapt to them, similarly as ordinary flu - take responsibility for your own health, stay home if you’re sick or vulnerable, keep away from crowds where possible, and be hygeinic, and avoid enclosed spaces and airconditioning. I don’t know how long distance flights can be managed? ‘Scuba’ tank for each seat? Health ‘passport’ like the old yellow innoculation books we used to have?

It's the responsibility of every person to behave appropriately and I think it has become 2nd nature for most people to follow simple precautions. There will always be a minority of idiots of course - that's humanity for you.

Meanwhile, the ABC runs articles where an "expert" says it's entirely up to the govt. No matter how many times and how consistently govt's make things worse, the answer is always more govt.

We always knew it would ravage 3rd world countries, another gift from the CCP.

What I find interesting is that the UK and Belgium are still leading the deaths/million population rankings. 50% higher than the US, yet both countries have nationalised "free" healthcare systems and have followed the lockdown strategy so praised by the media.

Well sometimes you DO need the government to lead - just look at the places around the world whee there wasn’t strong government direction in the beginning; there is a pretty big population of idiots these days...

Huh? 3rd world countries have generally fared much better than the developed western countries. Could be because of warmer weather, stronger immune systems, no medical help available/sought for mild cases etc.
The countries with a higher deaths per million than the US all have a commonality - density of population. God only knows what the death rate in US would be if all 325m were packed together at San Marino density... that has also helped Australia of course and is also a contributor to Vic’s current mess.

I don’t think any of the numbers coming out of 3rd world countries are reliable for various obvious reasons

If there were disasters we’d be hearing about it. I have 3 different contacts in Cambodia (1 local, 1 Aussie stuck there since March, 1 Ausie/Cambodian joint venture) and no dramas reported by any. Lockdown WAS taken seriously in many places.

This is disinformation spread by China - who do you think CTGN is ? ="China Global Television Network" , 100% CCP controlled.

And even if there were traces of Covid in the sewerage it was most likely a dead bat flushed down the toilet. Remember it was the Chinese in Wuhan to handle and eat the bloody things to get the pandemic started.
There was no one getting sick in Spain in March 2019 with CV19 .... ( hint ' cause they don't eat bats there )

It's too early to draw a conclusion, the virus spread to developed countries first because of air travel which is why it APPEARS at this point that developed countries have fared much worse. The numbers ( infection rate / deaths per million ) will be much different in 6 months - sadly cases are really starting to increase in countries like India, Mexico, Brazil and South Africa.

I do agree, so this may be very well Planned Chinese plot and Gov’s from quite a few developed countries have the same finding at the same time. https://www.rivm.nl/en/novel-coronavirus-covid-19/research/sewage

To have a bit of fun with this sorry saga who knows it may not be China but the Club of Rome, linked to this via
The last COP 25 with activists pushing for a reduction in the human populating

When we get back to flying internationally Gary do you think they will implement strict conditions to isolate pilots from the travelling swill ?

Will this mean the end of BJs from the crew ? :p
