Mick Schumachers fire extinguisher went offf in his car on lap 14. He had to retire. Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date
Hope you didn't aim that at me, did you? Just for the record: There are plenty of folks on FChat who have done track days and/or raced.
After the second F2 race weekend, the results for Mick Schumacher and team mate Robert Schwartzman is this: Saturday race: Schwartzman 1st, Schumacher 4th. Sunday race: Schwartzman DNF, Schumacher DNF. Schwartzman 48 points, Schumacher 14 points. Robert Schwartzman is leading the championship.
Corrected that for you. The Russian is very impressive, probably one of the best drivers currently out of F1.
As far as I know, Schwartzman had a spin during the first lap of the 2nd race, and couldn't restart. Both Prema drivers DNF on Sunday.
Ops, my bad, it was Lundgaard 1st. On the championship Schwartzman is first with 48 points, Schumacher 10th with 14 points.
Not writing him off. His last name and his dad's $ will assure him a seat in F1. But I won't write him in for a WDC either.
I never write anybody off for anything. I remember people slagging off Damon Hill when he couldn't pre-qualify a Brabham in F1. But a few years later, he was world champion. He did it of his own merit and without parental money too. Mick Schumacher's worst enemies are people who put too much expectation on his shoulders.
Yeah I very much agree. Mick could enter F1 and some brilliant light illuminates just as his father had. Michael himself, while he was good at Mercedes-Sauber sports car and F3 racing in his early days, he wasn't freakishly good. Verstappen has been in a exceptional in anything he touches. Michael was given the immense chance via Mercedes, who stroked the $1m check (or was it $2m?) to Jordan, and was of course freakishly good from the word go. Some say Michael driving sports cars of the time translated to F1 very well due to their twitchy front ends, which certainly explains a lot of Michael's driving style. Let's see if the same happens with his kid. I hope so but I maintain nominal expectations.
Hungary 2020 Mick gets overtaken by Schwartman. Schwartman for the win. Look how many seconds behind Schumacher is behind Schwartzman at the end of the race. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, 2 Russians ahead ! Second win for Schwartzman, best placing so far for Schumacher. Let's see tomorrow.
Interesting to see a board with familiar names, aside from Schumacher: Alesi, Piquet, Matsushita, Sato. Are they all sons (or nephews) of famous father drivers?
Mick looks so much like Michael. I hope he is energetic as Michael back in days. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Schwartman is something special. He looked great in GP3 (or whatever it's called) last year. Lost his dad early this year. I hope he gets to F1
