Hi All. Just finished my spec on the GTS. Pretty much did the whole nine yards including 3 layer paint and special leathers I passed on the surround view camera. Car still comes with front and rear sensors plus a rearview camera. With such a long bonnet does the standard equipment suffice or add the surround view? Thanks.
I wish I had a front camera I think ttforcefed got one installed.... I'm going to try to get one installed on my FF and RCF TE I can't see **** in the front...
My wife has the surround view system in her Panamera. I have to say it is really cool. I have front and rear cameras on my FF and I'd love to have the surround.
Front and rear camera on my 812 is enough $6K for the surround camera is criminal as is $4200 for Apple Carplay Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Thanks. Since the 360 camera view is on the small right screen, is it really useful? Do areas glow when you’re close to something like the benzes?
If you don't get it you will be sorry. The car is hard to park with sensors only, it's hard to tell when there is an obstacle like a parking stop that will crack your front lip unless you have the camera. It makes parking so easy now, I really love it. We have it on the Portofino and the 812, I would say it's an option you will get the full money's worth from unlike CF. You should especially want this to help protect that three layer paint. It highlights the area that may be an obstruction.
Here are some pictures I took while parking this morning. The little black square in the front represents the safe area where the front lip wont touch. Parking straight into a spot with stops is risky, also one with a low curb like I was in the pictures. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Even though the scree view is quite small, you better have the surround view, especially car has a long nose
Its probably worth getting if you are getting the car loaded. I hate to bring up the other side of this, but if and when the day comes to sell, you may very well encounter the person who says, there are a few cars all on the market, and this one is nice but is missing this feature which I really would like to have, I’ll go for the other one which has it. Doubtful you get your money back, but your car will be sold. Like many other features, its one of those things that seems absurd, until you have it, and then its hard to go back... Front view camera suffices for straight on 90-degrees parking, but it's really difficult to use when the parking is at an angle. Surround view is much better.
If you're spending $400k+ on a loaded build, what's another few thousand for surround view? And as @Caeruleus11 points out, it could sway someone to purchase your car over a different one if you sell it in the future. I'm looking at F12's right now, and seeing a car with a reverse camera, even if it's crap quality, makes it a bit more desirable for me.
I’ve logged tens of thousands of miles in numerous Ferrari’s including F12 and 812, none of which have/had surround view, and never once did I think I was missing something. I guess I just don’t find parking that hard.
I wish I had a front camera. I always back my Lusso in. The front end is very deceiving..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
