Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login I’ve joined the group simply to share the results of an on off 20 years of rework and redesign of an early 70’s Jaguar V12. The car came with aftermarket performance IDF’s. After thwarting a couple of gas fires, I redesigned an enclosed system that essentially seals the carburetor intakes in an air chamber and draws fresh air from forward of the radiator. The carbs were modified to permit fuel float adjustments while running and monitoring combustion with oxy sensors and air-fuel ratio gages.
Since the system is enclosed, it may be possible to put some slight air boost and will be something to look into.
It’s always been perplexing to me that a lot of these systems just take the hot engine bay air feed.

What is the horizontal tubing between the carbs for?
