I was offered $125,000 from a dealer for my 550 Maranello that has all records, 17,000 miles and has been well maintained. It has the Ferrari 3 piece wheels, Tubi exhaust, diamond leather, All books keys and covers.
I am the second owner. I don’t want the trouble of selling it myself. Is this a good price for a consignment deal? It’s silver with black leather Interior and is in Southern California. They will list it in the mid 130’s.

I haven’t followed the market that closely lately but that sounds like a pretty good offer from a dealer.

Why not list it on BaT?

Given today's market that sound darned reasonable, especially coming from a dealer. You could go through the hassle of a private sale and probably not do much better, if that.

Sometimes dealers will surprise you. I sold my '13 Mustang Boss 302 last summer to Carvana. Their offer was within $500-700 of what I figured I'd ask for the car selling it myself. Easy decision.

Thanks, it sounded like a good no hassle deal. I have a busy schedule and really don’t have the time or patience to try to sell it on my own.
They said they would send a transport truck to my house to pick it up. The dealership is named CNC, they are in Upland CA, they have a solid reputation.

Some dealers offer a nice consignment package and will avoid mentioning your car to buyers. I remember a dealer who had a consignment car listed (not a 550) who clearly directed me away from the vehicle. Most likely the idea was the seller would eventually become fatigued with the car sitting around and would eventually take a below wholesale cash offer. Probably a good idea to give the dealer a fixed schedule to list the car by consignment.

It looks like a solid price. Bear in mind though that a consignment deal isn't a deal until there's a buyer. Until then, it's just a Ferrari for sale..and there are lots of those. And while they have it in their showroom, you won't be able to drive it.

Many of us will know the feeling of having a car up for sale on consignment, sometimes for more than a year, with no sale. A Ferrari dealer here asked to put my gated 430 Spider up for a price I couldn't refuse. A year later it was still there so I took it back and drove it.

Affirmative, saying you were offered $125K for your 550 is a bit disingenuous. Like Darius said, you were actually offered an opportunity to have the dealer sell your 550 and if he gets a high enough price.....

Just wondering on the wisdom of revealing dealer offer on the interwebs especially when the dealer and potential buyers are actively on this forum.

That one at Ferrari SF seems aggressively priced (for a dealer ask) relative to the “meh” examples that have been sitting on the market for the last 2 years at $125-135k.

if it is a consignment forget it you would be better off selling it here .. I have sold several cars on Ferrarichat over the years and have found if the price is fair and the car is very nice.. it will sell sometimes extremely quick .....

+1 on if they're buying it, goodbye 550.

If consigning...don't waste your time IMO. List it here.

+1 or however many on this.

I am by no means an expert but just picked up a 550 and have done a ton of research over the last month.

With your miles, I think $130k it's possible for sure if the car is in above average condition. If it were me and the $125k is an outright sale to the dealer, I'd take that to avoid the hassle.

I think really clean, well serviced cars are scarce and will continue to be. Anyone looking for a 550 at this point is probably a true enthusiast and is looking for a long term keeper. I’ve had mine for 16 years and will never sell it, I just added other cars to compliment it. You may regret selling it and it sounds like it would be very difficult to replace. I added a 430 spider and a 675LT spider and I’m still drawn to the 550.

If you decide to sell it I wouldn’t take less than $135k.
