Anyone know where I can get a copy of a gearbox bell housing measurement and bolt pattern?

I’m toying with the idea of using one on a custom project.

    Thanks

That would be great and much appreciated

I’m thinking about mating the 430 trans to a 599 engine in a P3/4 replica to keep the powertrain all Ferrari.

It seems like the components line up from pictures of them, but I can’t be sure it’s a rabbit hole unless it’s measured.

I’m looking to get the diameter of the housing and the spacing of the bolt holes that secure it to the motor.

Probably the best would be to trace the face on a piece of craft paper or art cardboard. Then mark the holes of the bolts.

Just a magic marker/sharpie is all you really need to trace it out.

The measurement can actually be traced at home in comfort, rather than trying to measure it in the field.

If you get this done, I’ll be very grateful.

    i see, that's simple enough
but, if I do it on a cupboard, it will have some margin of error. what kind of margin is tolerable?
plus, it is not a circle. its a irregular shape, so there's no diameter

It just needs to be close enough it doesn’t have to be micrometers!

The important part is tracing the outside edge of the case on cardboard, that would be excellent.

If you’re able to measure the thickness of the edges of the bolt holes against the case, and the diameter of the holes, then that’s all the additional dimensions I would need.

If you just measure the thickness of the holes against the case, that’s also fine as I can get the diameter of the studs from somewhere like Ricambi etc.

    Much appreciated sir

If it works, I’ll have a 10k mile 430 transmission and any other components you would need available in two weeks or so.

That's really kind of you, 24000. I had a few random requests like this during my project and helpful acts like these do really help.

    Oh this is fantastic

Would you be able to send me the cardboard trace by FedEx if I gave you my account number?

I can take all the measurements from that.

The ones you provided for the studs are great and will work.

The trace allows me to take it to a 599 motor or bell housing and do much more that just measurement can do!

Eternally grateful for you doing this.

If you’re ever in California near Monterey/Pebble Beach/Carmel, lunch is on me.! If I’m in your neck of the woods, lunch is still in me

    Humbly appreciated,

    Richard

i asked my local print shop and they say scanning and printing isn't going to cut it. I am not sure why.

if you know how to do it, let me know.

Are you aware Im in China? Shipping fedex to you might cost you $60. ( not going to fit inside of an envelop) it is roughly 29cm x 36cm if I cut it as small as possible. a fedex pak could do it. If it fits inside of an envelop it will only cost $45

this is all assuming we don't fold it.

I can get it printed, scanned I’ll have to check.

I don’t mind the cost of the FedEx pack. It’s worth it to me. We might even have a discounted corporate rate.

If it’s folded on the existing center line and trimmed a little on the excess end, it will fit in a Pak. If it fits without folding, even better.

    Thanks again

just called my local fedex, they can't use 3rd party account # due to some weird law.

cost is $50, willing to pay me $50 to ship to you?
pm me your name, address, phone #. Better use a business address, residential will cost you like $5 more.

That’s odd with FedEx, as it should be Bill to receiver’s account.

Anyway, Happy to pay for the shipping. I’ll send you a pm.

The system says that I’m not allowed to send you a PM.

Can you send an email to

    [email protected]

I’ll exchange information with you there and can PayPal you the $50 ship charge.

    Best regards,

    Richard

Haven’t seen anything post yet and I’ve sent 2 test emails to that account that have been received.

Maybe the great firewall in China is blocking it?

If it’s not too much trouble, and you’re able, please forward it to:

    [email protected]

Alternatively, please PM me your email /PayPal address and I’ll send you the information and fees.

    Thanks again, Richard
