curious if I am alone here. I in fairness my 360 has tune headers intake exhaust and 430 is stock. 360 is slower and less capable but I find it more fun regardless. I am fortunate to own both. I am going to add an s line to the 430 so maybe that will change things. Sounds a big factor. Got a ride in fresh eats scud which was epic.

360's steering feel , to me , is way better than 430,but that probably just comes down to alignment difference.
360's shifting is really bad, even with CS tcu fitted.
to me 360 looks better, the body shell is drop-deader than 430 as I measured the height of both cars ( with same ground clearance)
i am saving up for a scuderia and am going to do a scuderia--->360 transplant.

As you say 360 is slower and less capable, so no. They are essentially the same chassis so they feel similar. My 360 was a lot twitchier than my 430 is. 430 has more downforce and feels more planted and more refined. My 360 was F1 and my 430 is manual so I had various reasons to make the step up.

The nice thing about Ferraris is that every last one of them is timeless. There’s no such thing as a passé Ferrari. Few other brands can claim such.

Sell the 360 and use $25K of the proceeds to put the 3 pedal mod on the 430.

Headers and Exhaust will wake that 430 up. Not only sound, but feel. You'll feel the rumble and vibrations through your extremities.

It's crossed my mind and can get it done for less than 25k. I am not a huge fan of the gated f cars despite the consensus. I had a gated 360 and I felt the F1 was better for the car. Now a gated 430 may be a completely different animal - have not driven one yet.

Yup - That is the plan. An S- line, then headers if neeeded and then test pipes if I am still thirsty. I am also likely going to lower the car to Scud spec with Scud alignment. I think with the above it will be a different experience and a better comparison to my modified 360. I just don't see how a modified 360 could be better than a modified 430:(

I have headers and sline. I also have some test pipes in the garage but I honestly think that might be too much. We’ll see if I put them on or not! As is, the car screams. It’s just rowdy.

Kind of a silly question. A better question would be this:

Special edition cars come close to the performance of the next iteration. For example a CS is closer than a 360 is to a 430. And likewise a scud is closer to a 458 than a 430 is. So the question should be who prefers a CS to a 430, or a scud to a 458.

Or maybe compare a MT 360 to an f1 430.

I think many value driving the 360 stick over the F430 f1. That's why the 360 stick has similar values or even trend higher values between them and the F430F1 while the 360 F1 has a drop from them in price about 20k or so. Dollars do speak preferences.

The 360 and CS handle differently to the F430, so that may also move preferences. Engine / Exhaust is also different. I could go either way...

I spent a lot of time in a 1900 mile 430 manual and my personal Stradale. I had felt that the stock 430 stick felt very much the same as my then stock F1 Stradale. They both felt about equal ~ at least on the streets. At the time I was offered that manual 430 coupe for $117k. With a little thought I passed on it as it was so similar to what I had.

Since then I have hot-rodded the Stradale a bit (exhaust, ecu, alignment, ride height, further weight reduction, etc) and now find that it is so very much more than what that 430 had to offer.

Shifts are just not an issue with my Stradale. 150milliseconds is just not a lot of time guys. If anyone tells you different then they have an incorrectly set up F1 box. Sure there are faster shifts in the later F1 boxes but a correctly set up 2004 Stradale F1 is still monumental. Of course that is coming from someone with the diagnostic equipment to set it up correctly. I was able to tune the clutch parameters to suit, and my car greatly benefits from that.

Anyhow, other than the updated interior of the F430 I find a dialed-in Stradale is just what the car doctor ordered.

I love the CS, Enzo and FXX, but that lunging shift is brutal. I push them hard and in car video of your head bouncing is astonishing.

It is like a breath of fresh air getting in a 458 Challenge and clicking away without the head bob.

I would always choose the special production car (eg CS, Scud ) over the more common next generation regular car. Just more special, and will always feel it. Only caveat is I would be more hard pressed to put miles on a CS or Scud than a 430 or 458 because I’d worry about value.

A month ago thought I was dead set on a 458 until I drove this! Now it proudly sits in my garage and required a premium.

This has become a CS/Scud thread. Not even close to what the OP asked.

CS is by far a much better car in terms of driving experience than an F430 or 458. CS is the last pure Ferrari car in my opinion.

I did not want to say anything, but this is correct. Back to the subject at hand. Everyone says to sell the 360 and just keep the 430. I really like that 360 on the contrary. I do think if I could get a good sound that was close to or better than my 360's set up with headers, intake exhaust and tune I could let it go. Another thing I always felt is the 430 seems more mass produced and not as exclusive as the 360. Same can be said when you compare the 360 to 355. The older cars seem more special. With that said 430 with S line is pretty epic!

I have a 360 manual and had a scud for three years. The 360 feels a little tighter around me and just feels like a more fun car to drive. The manual may have a lot to do with it. The 360 engine has a very musical exhaust note probably from a shorter stroke and just sounds great even with stock exhaust—lots of pops and burbles. Really like the 360 and for most purposes prefer it over the scud. Will say, few cars as special as the Scud.

Its interesting that the 360 seems more fun, granted the sick. The other thing interesting is that it feels tighter than a Scud. Could you elaborate on this a little more?

I have 75K miles behind the wheel of my 360 6-speed and around a thousand miles behind the wheels of various 360 F1's. A nice individual let me take his 430 6-speed for a test drive. I loved it! It was definitely faster than my 360. Otherwise, about the same. I have not driven a 430 F1. I've driven 360 F1's. I also drove a CS. It really didn't do it for me. I would love to drive a Scuderia one day. Or even get a ride in one. I have driven next to them on drives and they just sound insane, like a CART race car. But hopefully most of my post was dedicated to the OP.
