The rumors are encouraging. Flat plane crank, over 600 HP. Big aero (active?), big rubber/wider body. Most importantly to me, heard that there will be a significant diet from people that should have access to reliable info (hope that is true). One of many articles: https://www.motor1.com/news/427645/corvette-z06-c8-details-emerge/?fbclid=IwAR3CGgFHe5TfAWc4fBFYtlb0zgHJy8UVZP-CKMWg2GUZjSX4Yb-5sDCXxrA
The question is when will it be available. Talked to the corvette guy at the local Hendrick dealership who I have known for quite a while and he says late 2022. They have deposits for their first year's inventory already but half will drop off.
Believe they will announce in 2021 for model year 2022, deliveries in late 2021 (of course that timeline is fluid with all this). I’m top of the list at a small dealer in a medium city, can’t wait.
Only true with women....... With cars, you tend to keep liking the cars from your young to mid adult years
Flat plane crank makes a good case for buying the Z06, but I'm still partial to the Grand Sport. Curious to see what the pricing difference will be like.
Putting a 'ridiculous' rear wing on a modern supercar is not the same as the 'poser' one you put on your Honda Civic when you were 18. It produces actual downforce for a 600+hp 'track focused' weapon and will almost certainly be included with the optional Z07 package. It's all about posting fast lap times for magazines. Downforce, sticky rubber, and 'track mode' suspension get you there. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah right...tell that to the engineers at Ferrari who have 200+mph cars themselves. I repeat....the wings on the back of ‘vettes are idiotic looking...including the one on my C7 Z06 (with Z07). Oh...and BTW...it is the other person you drive by (whether in a car or a pedestrian in town) that will judge whether or not you are a poser...and with grey hair and a giant wing on your ‘vette you will be judged to be a “poser” 100% of the time whether or not you go to a track and whether or not you like it...wing=poser, period.
Because nothing in life is 100% black or white...loved the car for its driving fun...hated the wing. Btw...traded it on a Ford F150 King Ranch.
“Yeah, no.” to what? ...that Ferrari can’t make a 200mph track car without a hideous wing?...Whelp....because they can and do. ...that you DON’T look like a wannabe racer poser to everyone else with your huge wing on your...you know...super kule “race car?” Yeah...right.
Actually, it was a very funny situation. I fled coastal Florida with my family, them in the SUV and me in the Z06 from hurricane Irma. Went to NC, and had a pitiful amount of small belongings in the corner of my sister-in-law’s dining room, thinking our home and all possessions would be destroyed (thankfully that didn’t turn out to be the case). Anyway, while in NC I decided that a “man” needed to have a truck and so went to the local Ford dealer and traded the vette for the truck. The young sales guys were beside themselves...I could feel their pain for me...but I pointed out I had “a” Ferrari to ease the burden of letting the vette go.
