Lewis can do one. If everyone is REQUIRED to voice their message or be vilified, it loses all meaning. It's like a forced apology. What Lewis wants is for everyone to state the blatant ****ing obvious: "Racism is bad!" And if you don't do it this instant, his league of followers will vilify you on social media. And any action you do after that? Well they'll say it's worthless because ''you only did it because lewis said you should''. Can't win. Lewis is a virtue signalling asshat.
Yeah, I know, it's like a "FORCED" apology. Others in F1 have also come out with their empathy of racism since the Lewis tweet.
Eight races without spectators to start things going. There should be more announced soon. Hopefully, Austin makes the list. https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/11998994/formula-1-2020-european-eight-race-calendar-revealed-july-5-start?fbclid=IwAR12fMuvNdHT9TdLN6H64rX1yN1Ul86tCqGGY99GZjHGr8eh-1fkDKXu7p0
Honestly at this point, I don't care. Its still going to be the same parade its been for way too long.
You’ll be lucky you don’t get a warning and your post removed cause “it’s bound to cause troubles” criticising Hamilton...
The flying mustache says they won’t have a schedule until the end of June at the earliest. Take it easy, man. No need to rush things.....
IDK I will add this though, the 2020 MotoGp at the Twin Ring Motegi has been cancelled which was slated for Oct. 16-18th.
My UK paper this morning suggests Suzuka may yet happen in October 'a possibility' with as additional aspirations: Russia/Azerbaijan September US/Mexico/Brazil November Bahrain/ Abu Dhabi December
At least there's hope on the horizon with the date set for Austria. Can't wait! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Brazil's govt is currently desperate to have a GP. We'll see how that plays out. Still many months away.
[AMuS] Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has called recent Ferrari driver decisions "unusual" and explained why Mercedes would have acted differently. Wolff will wait until after a few races until the driver decisions for 2021 are made. Toto Wolff: "Of course Sebastian is a great personality and with four championship titles he is also one of the outstanding drivers of his generation. He is an outsider candidate for a cockpit at Mercedes." Toto Wolff : "First we want the season to start and let both drivers race freely. We want to see how George (Russell) presents himself. We want to make this decision in the course of the summer." Toto Wolff: "But first and foremost we are looking at our own Mercedes squad. But from talent and personality, I would never say no to Sebastian straightaway." Toto Wolff about the Ferrari driver announcement: "Everything was quite unusual. The five-year extension with Charles is relatively long. That's not really usual, even if you count him among the exceptional drivers." Toto Wolff saw the separation between Vettel/Ferrari coming: "Somehow we felt that the atmosphere between Sebastian and the team was not so good. But announcing the new driver pairing before the season, just like McLaren, is something we wouldn't do."
Why not add Montreal in December as well - a bit of snow and ice could add much needed excitement and position changes depending on who gets the snow plow aerodynamic front wing configured properly - much better than Bernie's artificial sprinkler system idea Best, Sammy
[AMuS] The first 8 F1 races are fixed. But where do the remaining races happen? The latest news: 2 more races in Europe: candidates are Hockenheim, Mugello & Imola. Since there is already a race Italy, Hockenheim has the best chances for a race in Sep. The final in the Middle East is considered fixed. Bahrain would prepare to host two races within a week, like Austria and England. Abu Dhabi only wants the final race of the season. Races in Singapore, Azerbaijan and Japan are supposedly not happening this year. Vietnam has signalled to F1 that there is not much interest in a race in autumn, especially since the next race would be in the spring of 2021 anyway. There are currently discussions of having two races in Sochi. Brazil and Mexico want the races but the infections in those countries speak otherwise. Austin also in doubt. The financial situation is said to be tense. INDY has already taken the race off their calendar. For F1, there could be the chance of a return to Indianapolis.
This doesn't sound well in order to crown a champion: we not only need 8 races (check on that), we also need 3 different continents (Europe, Asia as in Abu Dhabi and Sochi) to crown a WDC Thus at least one GP in North/Central/South America is a must.
The conditions to hold all these races in quick succession create conditions that are really unusual this season. I can feel a sense of panic at Liberty, to hold a championship at all cost.
[Autosport] Brawn says that the 8 race Euro-calender issued earlier this week officially count as a world championship, even though no further races can be run.
