I have decided to give up on finding a fair example of GT4 have decided to look for a 348 as I like the more agrarian build of a 348. Since I can do my engine and transmission work myself, I will look for an example to buy. I prefer a coupe to spider. Major service not important as I intend to pull motor if no documentation provided.
My cap is 40K. Anyone know of one for sale near northern california?

Agrarian is a strong word... perhaps "analog" is more appropriate. Truth be told, there is nothing unrefined in the 348: when running in tip-top shape the 348 is remarkably smooth. In fact I often wonder how a 30 year-old car can be SO smooth and fluid - once appropriately warmed up

@calder1 has one but low mileage and slightly higher price than what you mentioned. The coupes command a premium, though.

I drove my neighbor's 91 348 and enjoyed it, although the dash components were "sticky", he said it was the detailer used too much liquid on the dash?
He offered it to me for 35K about 2 years ago.

I agree, analog is more fitting, DAB

Engines on these are far from agrarian.. except for the leaks....

The chassis ok well, they do have a certain Massey furguson appeal to them.

I had two 348s and enjoyed both of them immensely. It's the most underrated Ferrari in my opinion. The cars were fun and reliable, and unmistakably Ferrari. Good luck with your search.

But I think his ask is higher than $40K. Did you see the silver one for sale here in the classifieds?

Love the 348! I would recommend a late model example if you can find a good one

I agree with most positive comments here...my 348 is fun, reliable and yes...unmistakably "Ferrari". Pic with my 9 yo son when I first picked it up last Spring in Maryland.

That's a rather ambitious price cap. There have been some higher mileage cars sold this year for under that, but they have all had issues of one sort or another. Are you an experienced Ferrari tech, with access to a two-post lift and large workspace? Would make your life a lot easier, if you intend to do your own major.

$72K to $90K from the most recent ads, you really don't want what $40K would buy.....
