Brand new drive away price https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2019-Ferrari-488-Pista-Auto/SHRM-AD-6097359
Ok, I see it now. I assume the $800K car is ready to go and a brand new one for $635K is a two year wait for it?
Interesting. Perhaps the 2nd-hand one for $800k is one of those hard-done-by non-flippers that Karen mentioned a week or so ago?
I don’t know about that. But it looks very familiar to me. At $800k it seems like they’re trying to make up what they lost in selling the 488 that was required to buy it. Silly signature to help Horse annoy KIAI
Who cares? Do they HAVE TO sell it? They bought it. Drive it and enjoy it. Like normal people do. I bet they thought they could drive it for a few months and sell it for $500k more than they paid. Sucked in.
That was the "norm" for a long time now. When I was in the US back in 2007, I talked to an FChat member who told me he had just sold his 599. He purchased new for US $250K, drove it 10,000 miles or so in 12 months and on-sold it for $350K. First I had heard of it at the time and I was quite surprised people would do that and that people would actually more for a used car. He said everyone does it because people with money are an impatient lot and don't want to wait for the new Ferrari, so they purchase used ones at highly inflated prices so they can have them straight away. He said he was fortunate enough to have a relationship with his Ferrari dealer to keep letting him order and buy the new model before anyone else, so he gets the new model straight away, drives it for 12 months and then "flips it" for a big profit. It's a crazy world we live in eh?
