Gentlemen, What type of scanner are you all using? Is the Blue Driver the best for a 599?

    Opinions Please!

I'm answering my own question, FOXWELL NT 510, works for 599.

Any generic OBD 2 scanner will work with a 599- it has to by law. It’ll only get you so far though, as many of the Ferrari trouble codes aren’t covered under the generic code list, plus there are loads of functions you can’t access without a more specialised bit of kit. Does the Foxwell get you into any of these proprietary functions?

The port is a mandated standard and has been since 1982 SO you are either using the wrong cable OR you are trying to plug it into the wrong spot. Now, there are at least 3 different buss protocols so an older or very inexpensive scanner may not be able to talk to the port but that is different than doesn't fit.

I should add: The above is true for US cars.

I don't know what to tell you. The product on their web site is the standard connector that has been in use since 1982. Spain/EU uses the standard OBD connector as well as the US. If I had to guess, you didn't find the right port. On the 599 it is hidden behind a panel so not obvious.

    John,
I'm just trying to help George with his question regarding BlueDriver.

I bought it a couple of years ago.
It didnt suit the (Euro specs) port of my 599. Thats all.

Here the prob I encountered. That centered protruding just makes the whole sensor impossible to connect.

Same issue here, the Blue Driver scanner didn't fit my '08 599 GTB.
I believe the large housing of scanner prevent's it from going all the way inside OBD port as the area there is crowded with other electrical things.

Interesting and good point, you are right. I can't see the bar in their website pictures; thank you for the detail. That bar isn't supposed to be there for the OBD connector In most it wouldn't interfere but it isn't in the spec/design so isn't compliant.
