Agree, that contrasting boomerang sticks out like a sore thumb IMHO. I can take the rear grills either way. Wonder if the boomerangs are easy to remove and paint them yourself?

The high wing is a dealer installed accessory anyway, so one could always order it and get it installed whenever it's available again. Regarding the boomerangs, I would imagine that it would be really easy to wrap those if it was too difficult to take them out.

I was able to pick up a pre-production car on Thursday, 3lt with z51 package. Did not have front end lift or magnetic ride, but was fine with everything else on the car. Still cannot believe the sticker for my car was $78k.

Yep, it will collect a little water in the rear but its totally water proof and you just lift one edge and let it run off which is what I did when we had a rain here recently, no big deal

I'm sure the after market will waste no time in offering wings and other carbon bits for the C8. ;)

I've had the same problem on boats like @randkin has noted. The easy solution is to put a small block of Styrofoam (slightly taller than the wing height at the center of the "pool") to act as a "tent pole" to create a sloped roof surface for the water to run off. You can find styrofoam at a craft store and it should not damage the paint.

The cover may be waterproof now, but standing water over time lessens that property and the weight of the water may cause the cover to move up the sides of the car. Seams are the first place to leak on a cover and it appears some may be in the pool. Your goal is to facilitate water flow off the cover to the maximum extent possible.

Mine was a vert, with the stock 350 4 speed. Even still an unfettered SBC with carb had Tq and pull/immediate-response modern motors feel to lack, despite the metrics. All the rattling and squeaking, good thing the top went down.
Im pretty sure though that if Bill Mitchell were alive and in charge the C8 would look different.

I have had over 100 2nd gen camaros / firebirds. Back when they were everywhere and cheap.

On topic, I see these C8's depreciating to a level that changes the demand for other mid engine performance cars. Unless the C8 has some sort of "got ya" like the Porsche IMS bearing debacle, I see the C8s having a trickle down change effect.

I would never buy any of the older pony cars now. My C6 vette is just a better GT car then my low miles 2002 WS6 trans am was and I bet a later C6 LS3 is even better.

Someone on Corvette Forum wrapped the boomerang only in body color, it's looked good and I think he said it was $400 - $500.
I go back and forth on this....I don't mind the black grills and such, but that black boomerang has to go!!! (IMO, of course). Now that it's obvious I am getting a 2021, I'm looking forward to seeing Silver Flare on an actual car. GM's "renders" are notoriously BAD.

I got an email today that the 2nd shift won't start until LATE SUMMER. So I think a lot of 2020's are going to end up being 2021. If they start the 2nd shift in August they should be 2021's

Gen 2 camaros are just cool. Fantastic shape and the sit on the road well. An SBC with resonators has a sound no modern can match.
With modern brakes period recaros and well built sbc it would be one cool ass car.

Like the Gen 5 also esp in z28 form, the gen 3/4 and 6 not so much.

Back on topic. remember the thread about the c8 being a ferrari beater for less than 100k.

The stylign of the C8, its no worse than a modern Maclaren. Its hardley art as say the R8 was or 458.
Sadly it lacks the cohesion of the C7 which to me was way better than the F12..
But if we look at how stylisticaly the c5 evolved into the c7 lots can happen in the next 10 years.

Why is this really an issue? The insurance is going to pay for it. And if the insurance companies feel ripped off they will let GM know.

I can see possible liability if the aluminum structure is not properly repaired.

I saw today they are going to continue production of 2020's through October, to make as many as they can from the first order group.
