*Note* I am not affiliated with LaSalle in any way, just someone looking to get into their first Ferrari and doing my research.

Has anyone here bought an extended warranty from LaSalle and actually had to make a claim with it? They seem to have been around a long time and deal mostly with exotics and I have seen their name mentioned on McLaren/Lambo message boards too.

I spoke with their lead sales guy this week and he seemed very knowledgeable. I'm looking at 2012-14 FF's and the New Power warranty is obviously pretty expensive and doesn't cover everything, seems New Power would be equivalent to the "Gold" level that LaSalle offers which is even cheaper than below. The Platinum level coverage from LaSalle is an exclusionary warranty that states anything that isn't specifically excluded is covered under the policy. I have always bought exclusionary warranties from Fidelity, USAA, and Carmax in the past and never had a problem getting a claim approved. I think Fidelity backs the Carmax warranty too, not that it really matters as Fidelity doesn't sell Ferrari warranties. This was the pricing he gave me which seems very reasonable compared to Ferrari at $24k for the same 4-year period:

    0-39,999 miles...
    Platinum Exclusionary Bumper-To-Bumper Coverage
    $500.00 Deductible
    1 Year/ 7,500 Additional Miles- $4,540.00
    2 Year/15,000 Additional Miles- $6,941.00
    3 Year/22,500 Additional Miles- $8,856.00
    4 Year/30,000 Additional Miles- $10,781.00

    1 Year/18,000 Additional Miles- $4,877.00
    2 Year/36,000 Additional Miles- $7,545.00
    3 Year/54,000 Additional Miles- $9,673.00
    4 Year/72,000 Additional Miles- $11,812.00

    40,000-79,999 miles...
    Platinum Exclusionary Bumper-To-Bumper Coverage
    $500.00 Deductible
    1 Year/ 7,500 Additional Miles- $5,404.00
    2 Year/15,000 Additional Miles- $8,525.00
    3 Year/22,500 Additional Miles- $11,015.00
    4 Year/30,000 Additional Miles- $13,517.00

    1 Year/18,000 Additional Miles- $5,837.00
    2 Year/36,000 Additional Miles- $9,305.00
    3 Year/54,000 Additional Miles- $12,072.00
    4 Year/72,000 Additional Miles- $14,852.00

If he didn't sound knowledgeable, he wouldn't be a good salesman...

Based on what info? Do you have personal experience with them?

Back when I purchased FF I asked the same question on forum about them, they were cheap, sounded appealing. I checked with quite a few dealers who said they didn’t honor the warranty, penny pinching everything. Only good 3rd party out there is ferrsure because they have access to so many parts through ferparts. Best is dealer though which you did get i believe.

Yes I did get the 2 year New Power warranty but won’t be able to renew it if I drive more than 7700 miles in the next 2 years, so looking at options after that. I’ll check out FerrSure but not sure if they have a mileage restriction. Did you buy from them? If so would you mind PM’ing me the details?

You should've been here in the mid-2000s IIRC -- a big fraud in this field by one of our own (was it Ben something who kept changing his legal name?). Caveat Emptor...

I've seen it happen before, which is what concerns me about going third-party that isn't Fidelity or Carmax warranty, especially at such a high price tag. Jake Raby at Flat 6 Innovations, a well known 996 builder, told me that LaSalle is the only third-party warranty company he works with because they have always paid claims no questions asked for his customers that had the warranty. There were a few positive comments on the McLaren forum when I searched earlier. Just looking for other feedback from those that may have had a warranty through them.

They wouldn’t offer it due to the tune. I asked about it up front and they said it should be ok but when I was ready to pay they told me no dice. So I’ve saved $10k so far.

FWIW my Indy shop said LaSalle is the only company that pays without hassle.
