My original wheel is deteriorating between the 7:30 and 9:00 o'clock positions, probably due to body oil as that is where my hand usually rests. It isn't real bad, but it annoys me. Anybody do good job of restoring these wheels? my only other option I see is Wheelskins, which take while to put on, but are top notch looking when done,, and obviously not OEM. http://www.steeringwheelscover.com/wheelskins-custom-size-speical-order Suggestions? Thanks, Doug
I used a small place in Ft Worth suburbs, not on the Ferrari but they did a perfect replication on my 1994 Trans Am......let my mind run on that one a little, or maybe the Trim Shop here saved the info.... Maybe a PM to Newman he's done a lot resto of our era, see who he uses...
If the leather is in reasonably good condition, Leatherique used to have a steering wheel restoration kit. I used it many years ago that produced really good results.
My MOMO needs help too. I swapped to the Black Nardi correct for the 2Vi about 15 years ago but I think I have gotten that out of my system and it's time for the MOMO again. I'm going to try Leatherique Steering Wheel Kit.
Mine wheel is beyond using something in a can or bottle. The cover is deeply cracked, down to the foam underneath. I guess its Wheelskins. I have used their product on my '61 Corvette and it looks very professional, not at all like the $10 auto parts store wheel wraps. Doug
