Lewis is very fast, no doubt. But he has benefited from not only having the best car, but also the best rear gunner.
How many times has he won a race at least in part because Valteri or Nico held up cars that were chasing him, or sacrificed themselves for Lewis' strategy?
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that - it's a team sport - but that is something that no other driver has had so effectively for a long time.

If Seb went to Merc (and unfortunately I don't think he will) there's no way he'd be prepared to play that Bottas role.

 

If Toto goes it might happen

 

Would Lewis hang around if Seb suddenly went to Merc or would he retire?

 

It would be nice if they BOTH retired ..... let's see who the greedier one is ?

 

From what I’ve seen Mercedes are far too smart to put Vettel and Hamilton together. That would be a disaster waiting to happen. It’d be great viewing, but sheer madness!!

I agree pretty much 100% with what you've said Pete. Dan and Vettel were a disaster too and to an extent, Charles and Vettel.
My question would be why do it?
I just don't think Mercedes would want to manage those two, can you imagine it?
They've got a "World Champ" (just threw up in my mouth), and I also think Bottas is a lot more compliant than Rosberg was, and he's a pretty capable No 2. I can't imagine Vettel would want to be number 2. I just think it would bring the team headaches they don't need, you know having 2 alphas under 1 roof.
I don't know mate, time will tell, but like Horse says it'd be fuching hilarious to watch, so fingers crossed

I'd suggest that putting her in charge was the begginning of the end.
