It's a 2nd cousin to Venetian plaster. It trowels on but you incorporate textural and color effects in that process. Perhaps you tweak it slightly with a second spot application but it's relative simple once you figure it out. Venetian plaster is slavishly labor intensive, Multiple coats, each buffed down to glass smoothness before repeating and burnished in the final step.I'm using VP right now in our guest bath and regretting the decision by the minute. Thanks for the kind words!
One more because I'm proud and I couldn't resist. His name's Arlo and he's a Bracco Italiano - my cigar buddy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nothing else to do during coronavirus, so time to break out the vintage Cohiba Esplendidos. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well put. I used to get them easily in the early 90's. A friend's brother in law was an abassador and he would come back with two boxes every trip, sell one to me, make his money back, then keep one for himself. I remember them as great, but I haven't had one in 25 years... wow. They've always been stored well, and I heard the vintage Cohibas are selling for ungodly prices, so they should be great.
Taking a break from cbd for a while and wanting to get into cigars possibly. What's a good starter thats affordable but still quality? Pretty sure I prefer a lighter smoke. Are there cigars that are "smaller/shorter"?
Cigars are measured by ring, which is diameter in 1/64" increments, and also plenty of cigars are shorter, I like petit Monte Cristo #2s, but just about every brand has one. A friend who is a cigar wholesaler says that Hemingway Short Stories are their most popular cigar. They're spicy but not harsh, well worth a try. It can take a while to find what you like, unfortunately recommendations don't always help, kind of like wine.
A classic is Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure n°2 - not too big (Robusto - length 124 mm, diameter 19.84 mm / ring 50), not too strong, good taste (for me at least). The Partagas Lusitanias (Double Corona - length 190 mm, diameter 19.45 mm / ring 49) are spectacular but one needs some time to smoke one... The H. Upmann Sir Winston (Churchill - length 180 mm, diameter 18.7 mm / ring 47) was exceptional but it's now difficult to find, apparently.
Thanks guys!! I just found out there's a cigar shop about a mile from my house I had no idea was there. Unfortunately I don't think i can go in and chat because of the virus.
Look at the Acid cigars. They make about 15 different kinds. They have smaller ones and larger ones. The Toast is my favorite if I want a large one. The Blondie if I want a small one. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Funny, I had this from a friend's wedding several year's ago. Decided to light it up anyway. Thanks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Haven't smoked much in a long time. Had a short story a week or two ago while working out in the garage. Lit this bad boy up after dinner at some friend's house. Tasty and all gone now. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have been wanting to try one of those for a while now. I always forget to order one when I order boxes of my regular smokes. Last I checked, they wanted $27/stick for them.
Enjoyed a Hoyo de Monterrey Serie Le Hoyo with a friend this evening. Pretty chunky smoke, easy draw but needed to be re-lit a few times. For anyone passing through Hong Kong can recommend L'etage bar and humidor in Causeway Bay. Not affiliated with the place in any way, but been coming here for 5 years since I arrived here and never left disappointed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Padron I posted? Could be that much but I bought 'em a long time back. It's a great smoke. Let me know if you can't find any, I can send you one.
Welcome! Acids are a good starter smoke. For cheap I would pick up some robusto Connecticut sticks. Perdomo is cheap and camachos are good. Lots of options.
