Well, as you know, opinions are like...(well you know)...we all have one. For me, although I thought Thomas Magnum looked really cool in his 308, I thought the car was a little too wedge-shaped, a la the Fiat X19. It wasn't until the 328 came out that I said. "I have to have one of those!" And when the ABS version came out, that was an absolute "gotta have!"

Sadly it was 20 more years before I could actually buy one!

I really like how the 308 is a "small" sports car compared to so many of the new Ferrari's. I would truly love it if the 308 had about 350 HP, GM air conditioning and GM power windows. Is that too much to ask?

PF / Fioravanti = Amazing designers. Michelangelo for 4 wheels! So true that in-person-presence of the beautiful Ferrari 308 is tough to replicate with a photograph.

On a road trip to ski with a buddy, I recall having an animated discussion about the 308 beauty vs some Porsche model. My friend wasn't at all negative on the 308. Just trying to be fair and balanced on other car designers. Out of nowhere, a white 308 GTS cruised slowly past us. The conversation froze and I recall his silent stare at that magnificent sexy sculpture. Like a movie star just walked in a room. "You were saying?" ;) This experience was 40+ years ago and still sums it up for me.

I think the "unphotographable" comment means that is difficult to capture the perspective, The picture a few posts back of a 308 with driver parked in front of a Mustang illustrates it well. You just don't get the size right in your mind's eye in a photograph that has no other reference. I've seen another picture of a 308 parked between two Miatas and the Miatas look enormous. When the 308 is pictured alone it just looks way bigger than it actually is and this astonishes people who see one for real the first time. They just never knew they were that small.

I have to admit, I am often disappointed by my photos. I think the car is incredible visually, and I rarely capture it.

Yes I have to admit my 308 is small beside a normal car

Okay but no one ever said anything about "photogenic" - different word, different meaning.

    Try sketching it.
I find this more satisfying even if inaccurate the pencil on paper is like running the microfiber towel over the newly polished fender. You feel it.
