I have a 2007 F430 F1. The driver's side inside Lock/Unlock little lever works fine and riggers the Lock/Unlock of the doors. The one on the passenger side does not work. I took off the inside door panel thinking it was the microswitch, but disconnecting the switch and shorting the two pins in the connector together does not cause the Lock/Unlock function to work. So clearly there is an open elsewhere. I have the shop manual but it does not include a detailed wiring diagram - does anyone have such?

The next level in the connection chain appears to be the large connector that goes into the door from the car body. Anyone have any info on the pinout of this connector if I manage to get it open so i can test that path?

Any other ideas how to troubleshoot this?

    Thanks much.

@Flash 32: Wow - thanks! This should help. But the pics are pretty tough to read. Any chance you can e-mail me .pdf's of them? [email protected]. What document are these from - can one obtain them?

Thanks very much again - much appreciated.

Sorry about the quality ..I will cut and paste into a odd and post here in a little bit

It is from a Scud wire diagram wsm I purchased .. I hope it is close to the 430 you have

Give me few and I will post that and more in a PDF ..need time to select the area you may need ..

Without any deep dive it may be you door lock ecu that may be bad.. but like I said I haven't really put to much thought or analysis into it

Dominik - your suggestion about the ECU is good and it would be simpler if I could simply test the switch connections at the door lock ECU. The part number for this ECU is 184391. Do you by chance have a pinout for this module? Thanks again.

Dominik - the docs you sent me has the pin out of the window control ECU, but not the lock/unlock ECU. Any chance you have that in your docs? Thanks again.

Have checked out the microswitch and nearly all the wiring and can find no issue. So seems my next step is to replace the lock/unlock ECU which (amazingly) is fairly inexpensive - less than an hour of my mechanic's time - so worth the risk to replace. Once I get it I will let you know if that solves the problem.

The lock/unlock ECU is pretty well hidden. It is under the water shield near the driver's left foot (steering on the left side of course) and tucked under the carpet. In the photo below it is "B".

Great, any idea which wire gets the signal from the door lock lever ? They do a nice conversion to get the steering wheel on the correct side, you should have asked for it when you sent your order for the car in. !!

Strange follow-up. My mechanic had an F430 in his shop, and I asked him to see if the lock/unlock on the passenger side worked properly. He indicated that it did the same as mine - only the driver side lock/unlock worked and the passenger side on did not. Does any other F430 owner have the same behavior? Mine is a 2007 spider. Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem on my F430 spider. Is the problem solved by replacing the ECU and can you provide the partnumber?

As noted above by myself and others, as far as we can tell this is a "feature" of the F430. At least the two cases noted above all seem to do the same thing. Don't think is is a coincidence. Hopefully anyone else who has an F430 and has both door lock handles working will chime in.

I would also note that the passenger door unlock function still does work, i.e. lifting the interior door handle on the passenger side will unlock and open the passenger door. It just the function that would allow a passenger to unlock the driver's side door from the inside on the passenger door that does not appear to work. IMO an unimportant feature.

I have a coupe and everything works as it should, except for I can't get the driver's side window to stay aligned for long. Interesting enough, I forgot to plug in the micro-switch last year and the car wouldn't lock until I took the door panel off and plugged it back in.

But once you did that, could you lift just the LOCK tab on the passenger door and have both the doors unlock?

Strange. Curious to hear from others on their experience.
