I’ve heard conflicting opinions from a few different 360 owners about the reliably of the 360. I’m hoping an owner on here can clear up the confusion.

I've only owned mine for just over a year (2003 360 Spider) with just under 20K miles on it. I added about 3k of the 20k. Other than the yearly service, I have had nothing go wrong with it. It came with 10 years of service records and had been serviced regularly.

Depends on a lot of factors.... I had a buddy own a 99 that he never serviced and trashed for 10 years and nothing went wrong. Others have lots of small issues regularly (which in Ferrari world costs alot) .... Its part luck of the draw and despite what I said about my buddies unicorn.. how it was maintained. Definitely a car used a modest amount each year and serviced each year will be more reliable than a garage queen. They're still cars that benefit from regular use

    Summary:

Set aside money for repairs as just like any other car they will break.
The difference is the amount of money it takes to repair it as the parts and labor are not cheap.
These cars are aging so it will require repairs as parts age they break.

If you can do the work yourself you can save a lot of money. And you can find parts for much less, just do a Google search.

The last 3 months of my F430 ownership I spent almost $13K. I have a post here somewhere.
    Not complaining, just sharing facts.

To me, Ferrari's are just like family when it comes to spending money.
They are worth every penny as the smile they put on your face every time you see it and drive it is priceless.

Reliable is a relative term. Is a 360 a reliable Ferrari? Maybe. Is it as reliable as a Honda CR-V? No.

I've had my 360 for a little more than six months and 1,000 miles and it has always started and driven. Has it run without problems? No. I've had to fix a lot of little things but nothing that I can't personally handle. If I had brought it to a service place every time something weird happened, it would cost thousands. By maintaining it myself, costs have been modest.

One thing about the 360. It's a car that the average person with mechanical experience can handle. The parts are available. There are videos online for common issues. There's a rich aftermarket. There's the wealth of experience and documentation here and other places online. Ferrari's seem to be built to be taken apart and put back together.

What I would say about the 360 is that it appears to be a car with robust guts and fragile sub-systems. So get a car with good guts and you're likely to be able to fix the rest yourself.

The other side of the coin is what you get out of ownership. I've had all kinds of sports cars, this is my first F car. The difference is quite stunning in every aspect. I love the hand made quality of my 360. I love the feel the car gives me as I race through twisties, hitting my shift points on the money (I have a gated). I love the sound and fury at 8k RPM's as I zoom t 120 MPH with the top down. What is that worth?

This is nail on the head. It’s PRICELESS.

To OP, I’ve found mine to be reliable with a couple of minor issues which I think are normal for a car of its age. Water pump, ac, plugs. Otherwise she runs strong.

F1 and tops are responsible for the bad reputation. Stick shift coupe complaints and problems are rare. So if you want a look at me, look at me, finger flip shifter, you will have to pay to play and that is worth it for most finger flipper spyder drivers.

Don't want to jinx myself but my car has been rock steady.
Other than a rad fan last year, it has been only maintenance stuff over the past 5 years.
No issues with my Spider top

Then again my car is NOT a garage queen

My CS has been bulletproof for the past 6 yrs. I’ve owned it. Never had a single F1 issue, failure light, nothing.

I haven’t had too much trouble with mine in 2.5 years, but hopefully it’s not too reliable! The most important criteria for an expensive car to be an enthusiast’s car rather than a *****’s car is being inconvenient to own and operate!

I had my '03 360 Modena for 3.5 years! Loved every minute of it. I did put a Tubi exhaust on it because, well...you know!!! Had zero issues with the car. In fact it came up for sale early this year and I thought seriously about buying it back!!! But, moved on to another Ferrari experience!

Mines done 115,000klm and runs like a Swiss clock but if it sits In the garage for longer than 2 weeks it grumbles, they use parts up due to being a little racing car, things wear out due to the stresses put on the components in a high performance car but it’s a car, drive it as much as you can and Service the thing When due, should be fine

Will be 6 years of ownership this August. Except for the right ECU going bad, no other problems. Never had F1 problems (I just jinxed myself! :)). I think it has been "cheaper" than my 328.

Owned my 2005 360 Spider - F1 box for over a year. The top had to be realigned by my specialist. As it wasn’t closing.
A cheap fix. That’s it. Serviced annually . Driven once a week. Added 1k miles in 12 months. Zero problems.

The big expense with these paddle shift cars is the dreaded clutch change.

If you can’t work on the car yourself, the best thing to do is to get a honest, fair Ferrari specialist. Will save you big money at the annual service et al.

Had a 2000 360 6-speed coupe for ~13 years (purchased in '07 with 19K on it). Put 15K miles on it, many of them on track, during the 13 years. Had the usual issues - water pump, heat exchanger (that one was a mess), sticky bits, headliner, etc. Also had the belts done 3 times. Brakes/rotors were replaced at least twice (due to tracking). It was a solid car but never had to depend on it for daily transportation. Recently parted with it and only (occasionally) miss the gated shifter.

10 years of ownership. I help Corolla drivers that break down. When you look up "reliable" on google. There's a picture of the 360. Right below the actual image result of a Camry is a 360 for a carnauba wax ad so that's something. When chuck Norris wants to catch the bad guy in a Lambo, he does it in a 360. Cause it starts. First maybe second time. But it starts! And you can't have a car chase scene if the car doesn't start. So yeah reliable.

    Reliable - 100% for a 19 years old car.
Things do wear out with age not just mileage. It won't ever be as cheap on maintenance in comparison to my low spec 2018 Mercedes (live in the Europe so it is kind of domestic) though. However it'll give me way more fun and ultimately a bigger return.

With a 19 years old car you have to expect to spend money I would say, but obviously you have Ferrari tax to pay on a 360 :p
