Agree Ocon will surprise a lot of people,
Just remember his qualifying stats against Perez (16-5) the last year they were together at force India.

Exactly, two years in a row Vettel had a fair chance to justify his 4 world title status.
And he failed ( mainly in 2018)
Leclerc seems a lot more stronger on the mental side ( Monza 2019) and in the end it makes a huge difference.

I think the betting line is that Max is the new Senna.

    In more ways than one.
Whispers from Force India was that he wasn't an easy bedfellow, and caused some bad blood in the team
Not only with Perez, but the mechanics hated his attitude, apparently.
So, it's just as well that he is in a French team that may appreciate that sort of petulance.

Please keep in mind my disdain toward Vettel not intended toward his fans.
The reason I don't like him is he disappointed me so many times. I was rooting for him, but the unforced errors made me slam the coach pillows more than a few times.

The final straw is him leaving Ferrari. I suspect they said you are #2 driver, and we'll pay you - ~10 million for a 1 year contract. I don't know what he expects after a 2-year rookie consistently beat him (when the rookie was #2 as well.)

My respect for him would have increased if he said I would be the #2 driver, stay even if they offered me $1.00 and I will prove to you all I have what it takes.
Instead, he said he feels he should be the #1 driver, not about the money.

    2 Poles for VET
    6 Poles for LEC

    6 Podiums for VET
    10 Podiums for LEC

    1 Win for VET
2 Wins for LEC (should have been 3, we all know that)

Okay, not about the money? About #1 driver? Does meritocracy not count? What happened to "let the best man win? let us race?"

Ferrari was loyal to him by offering to keep him on. The disloyalty I see is Vettel thinking he should not earn the #1. That he should be 'freely given it' - (I'm sure with the corresponding salary as well)

    That's not a team player.

I know some will still think poorly of me, know I don't think the same of you if you love Vettel. Nothing personal - my anger is toward the driver, not his fans.

the comparison between the two drivers is interesting it's true but we must not forget the work done by Vettel to get there ...... and bravo ferrari anyway who is The only team that puts out kimi world champion in F1 and Vettel also world champion of F1, The only team which does not build the future !!

In a nutshell Seb turned from Asterix at Toro Rosso and Red Bull to...Obelix at Ferrari losing his edge and motovation...picture what he will loo like in ten or twenty years:D

Damn that Williams who had just dumped some oil.
Seb was unlucky to have been the first guy around to hit it.

But - we just know that Schumacher in that same moment would've somehow kept the Ferrari going. He did it so often. Different league entirely.

If you want to see real drivers in real cars going real fast, forget F1 and go watch WRC.

Also, there is very little bad blood in rallying, because competitors don't race against each other, but against the clock.

SkySportsF1 crew just had a Zoom w Zaks Brown and Zaks confirmed that they were already too far down the rabbit hole with Ric in anticipation of Sainz’ move to Ferrari. All this went down over the winter (pre-pandemic) when McLaren had given Sainz and his management permission to speak with Ferrari.

So, yep, the honey badger did screw Seb of a seat, gg. Guess if he wants to stay in F1, Renault is it and marginally possible Red Bull takes back the baby.

Marko has firmly closed the door to Seb. No appetite financially or politically having Seb with Max. Its is the Max era at Red Bull. Vettel has run out of places. I expect him to leave unless Renault rescue.
