Based on the info I found and shared many posts above it said it is required to remove flywheel ..

Maybe someone who did it that way can confirm that ..

Actually you shall see tonight when you remove the plate and if there is that one bolt behind the flywheel

Ok dumb question but by looking at schematics I can’t tell. Before I remove clutch and backplate do I need to drain engine oil.

The additional 20 hours is what I got quoted for on my diff while doing the major. My car is in right now for the major service.

What would be the correct amount of hours to do this?

Made a video on how to fix a broken differential in a Testarossa.

Thanks. Read that thread also and I could not find anywhere where someone said to drain the oil.

The post I made way above came from that thread and it look reasonable ..not many people have done it with engine in .. most do with engine out and most split case as it may seem

No way in hell does a Ferrari with a broken diff drive normally. OP likely drove the car properly, the broken diff cracked the case and he discovered the truth in minutes.

I agree with **** happens. But in this case the **** already happened before he bought the car.

OP is within his rights to refuse any offer from the seller, but the offer should be made because the damage already had occured. Driving it made it worse. I believe this is the correct spirit when buying cars from fellow Fchatters.

right, but also after broken just could destroy the left cover

    no
the shaft act as a fuse when accelerating hard with turning wheels when you shift from 1st into 2nd. this "fuse" has nothing to do with a broken diff

Interesting thread, following along, and as others have stated it's pretty much part of the exotic car ownership experience. Like marriage vows- for better or for worse. ;) I contemplated purchasing this vehicle but never got around to putting the money together. I'm looking at this as something that could very well have happened to me. If you turn a wheel on one side and the other side doesn't turn, does this mean when driving the car that only one rear wheel was putting power to the ground? I guess that might not have even been noticeable on dry roads in nice weather, when driving normally and not accelerating hard.

Dude, seriously, get a life. You're beating a dead horse.
The posts speak for themselves. If you have something technical to contribute, be my guest.
Jamie and I are on the same page. Maybe you need a safe space....we don't.

No, that's the thing. The car felt totally normal, dry, wet and accelerating. It didn't act strange or pull to one side. That's why every Testarossa for sale is now a question. You can't tell. The car just came back from a left rear wheel bearing job and Gabe test drove it and said everything was fine, before I had it shipped back to my home.
The OP has all the service bills and can reach out to Gabe anytime to ask.

Like Nat said, this could happen to a 100k Testarossa with 10k miles.

I ready to separate rear cover. I have jack under oil pan with wood block.

Before I remove motor mounts I want to make sure the engine won’t tilt back.
