Sounds like a fair deal. Maybe a bit better than fair :).

Sounds like a good package trade in deal for you. I look at the 4C, that will be killed off soon too, but it is so wide, I don't think it is the best choice, so I'll keep the Abarth.

No real surprise they're killing the current gen 500. It's an ancient design by today's standards. FIAT already said the next gen is an all-electric model with extended range.

Me, I'm going to hang onto my Abarths for now. Support might become a problem, though. I live in a major metropolitan area and there's not a dealer anywhere nearby.

    Dealer support LOL
Dealers have been total bastards when it comes to my Fiat experience. You are better off at an independent shop for a wide variety of reasons.

A few months in to the Firehawks. Loving the pleasant feel and sportyness of these tires. I reiterate... GREAT value. Will definitely choose them again.

I run 205/40/17 Firehawks on another car.........love em! Interested to know how wide the rims are on the Abarth.

I seem to have also caught the Abarth bug..........why so quite around here?

The wheels are 17X7 I run the OEM Pirelli's ay 205/40 17's with no issues so I don't see an issue with the Firehawks.

I did the EC pops and bangs with launch control and I will say it is beyond obnoxious and not terribly drive-able from 2500-3500 it bucks and kicks, but boy does it pull to redline!

I've got the 205's on the factory wheels with a 10mm spacer :). No issue :). No spacers, you can go 215's for sure. Love this little guy.

Had 215/40 or 45/17 on mine. Since sold....with a slightly taller sidewall, it was more comfortable slightly too

i have all the other ones done and i dont live in CA thankfully. sticking with stock turbo as i dont want the lag or expense of going bigger. if its too annoying i'll put a supersprint muffler and it will quiet it down.

  18. Any quick rundown on year differences? How different is a 2017 from a 2012?

Had a 12. Luckily what was fixed under warranty, were issues that were modified I believe sometime in the 13 model year.

Seats armrest would fall off. Very involved fix.
Newer models have armrest for both front seats. Mine did not. Also seats were lowered .5" for slightly better headroom. As I'm 6.0 and mostly torso....the sunroof models would not work for me. Plenty of room without.

Newer turbos, more reliable. Mine was replaced under warranty.

Steering wheel bushing failed, again fixed later.

I traded my 12 in last September with 85k on it.
    Shockingly it was pretty reliable.
I kept thinking I was on borrowed time with it due to, well it's a Fiat!
Also my car had been hit twice in the first two years I owned it.
Do check the trans/ oil levels regularly.
Turbos use oil. But worse for me my tranny started to fail as it was leaking oil for a while.
Never noticed because they have a tray underneath that kept it from leaving a mark on the pavement

So I traded her in... bittersweet. Such a fun car for so little.
Good advice, buy the newest/ low miles you can.

For such a small price difference, I’d get 2013 at the minimum. Still love mine for simplicity factor. Feels more analog. Can’t go wrong with any of them. 2017 has more color choices.

  23. Any idea what the GQ edition is? Seems to be the same as the Abarth, is it just a higher level trim/same car?
