Making ribs with Kraft mac n cheese......…………… grocery store here has prime rib on for $8.99 per lb. Going to pick one up for tomorrow or Sunday. Never tried this stores meat, but I'm sure its good.
$9/lb is a super deal! Image Unavailable, Please Login Lamb chops on the grill. With my homemade mint jelly. And, corn bread. T
I didn't do the metric conversation, missed your in France. Our stores mostly do meats in lbs with the conversion on the label. I spent too much time in the states and rarely use metric, unless its a Canadian deli.
If it's really a prime rib, i.e., highest quality rib roast, then that's a good deal @ $9 CDN / lb. That's about $2 USD / kilo. How much is steak in France? Btw, you never told us how your dinner date of steak and mirabelle went! T
Did you cook them with the sauce in the Insta Pot? Or, add it at the end? How long from start to finish? That's a quality looking rib...T
Just felt really "traditional today" - with lots of stuff going on, beyond "the obvious" - our little doggy Molly is in her last days (hours?) While we're not "Orthodox observant" and all that in any way - it just felt like a good night for a proper Shabbat dinner.... So today I made Challa completely from scratch - hand kneading fresh dough and everything that goes with it... Anne came home from visiting her daughter in Seattle (not seen in 6 weeks, and they "socially distanced") and made the Matzoh balls and Matzoh soup from scratch. I've not baked bread of any kind from scratch in many many years - but it "just seemed right" today. Three hours to make a $3.99 loaf of Challa! Dinner was a Mitzvah Blessings and warm wishes to all Shabbat Shalom! שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם Jedi Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
"Shabbat Shalom" ... Sabbath Peace - wishing all my friends here a peaceful Sabbath no matter how or even if you celebrate it.... have a great weekend would be a really super duper loose translation I'll be honest - we rarely celebrate Shabbat now that all the kids are grown and on their own. But it just felt like a good thing to do and have the pleasure of making the challah by hand from scratch Jedi

In that case, same to you. The one thing about this quarantine is a whole lot more people are cooking than ever before. Yeast packets are almost impossible to find. A friend of mine sent a message to our group text asking for one. He was able to get some from his mom but I only have one by chance, and today there was zero at the store.
