Thanks for sharing!!! I miss my 996S. I started to restore my Suzuki RG500 Gamma and the fellow I left my fuel tank and bodywork skipped town with everything!

Its amazing that a bike of that era still looks pretty modern.

I had one of the ~50 955SPA bikes with low miles. The mapping was off from the factory though a Ferracci chip helped around town to keep it from dying. Sold it to a fine fellow that had a new in the crate 0-miles 955 that he couldn't ride as he wanted to keep it new. Ended up totally rebuilding the engine at the Ducshop near Atlanta and mapping a new chip as the factory chip was way lean. Now he has a 955 he can enjoy.

916 thru 998 is probably the greatest looking sport bike of all time. Of all of them my fav is 996R. The only thing close might be the RC30. 6 days a week though I would say the Ducati is the best though. Beautiful collection.

I am selling an unridden, delivery mile 996R. I have two and there's no reason to keep the one that I don't use.

    Is it this one? https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/145846317/

Sad to see you letting one of them go even if it isn't that particular one. Great bike and watching you acquire two gems in that old thread was fun to follow.

It is that one. And, yes, it was quite the thing to track down and acquire but last year, I managed to get another 996R that was owned by an elderly doctor that was in incredible shape. He hadn't used it in a while and so I took it apart, did a comprehensive service and it's turned out to be an amazing bike. I ride it a lot. So now I have two - one I use and one I don't.

And while I agree with you that's it's never fun to sell something, I have a good reason: I need to make room.

Not to get too weird here but I have the V4 Superleggera on order and I managed to get two more factory race bikes, including the last unused 748RS world supersport bike (I am going to ride it, though), and room is now an issue. So if I have to part with one to make room, it's going to be one that I have two of that I can't use.

Best of luck with the sale! Hopefully it finds a good home. Part of me would like to see it stay as a time capsule as it's been this long but another part of me wants to see it used the way it was intended. It will be a nice problem to have for the next caretaker.

    Have you advertised it yet?
    What will it go for?

Just noticed the "no miles" 998 in Las Vegas.
I'm hoping to be close to my settlement on the 848EVO

I have no idea what the price will be. It's going to be auctioned and the price will be whatever the market will bear.

I don't know about a no miles 998 but a 996R or 998R is worlds different than a standard 998, although a standard 998 is a very nice bike and a favorite of mine.
