I am the only one thinking many of today's F1 drivers are a bit ermm whimpish? This guy had cajones made of steel. When men really were men...no snowflakes allowed !. Comments if you enjoy it please..or even if you don't.
Meh, that guy used a rope and a scaffold. He was a sissy compared to the guys who built the Empire State Building, those you see in old pictures having lunch sitting on the beams. And even more compared to a medieval peasant, who spent his spare time fighting viking invasions armed with a wooden fork.
Anyone know of any similar documentaries? His home was turned into a museum up until a couple years ago. When it was no longer financially viable and they held an auction for the home and items. https://www.antiquestradegazette.com/news/2018/fred-dibnah-heritage-centre-contents-to-be-sold-at-auction/
You can find quite a few more on YT...not often you get a statue of your self in your home town.He is a local legend
A friend and ex-colleague has an interest in traction engines as did my friend's father. As such he knew Fred quite well. Bolton is about 20 - 30 minutes from where I live on a busy day. I often visit Bolton town centre at weekends. Fred Dibnah is indeed a local legend. His house (formerly a gatehouse for a local park I think) and the statue.
