First, is there a cross reference from another car/manufacturer that we can use on our 308 or is it only the original and nothing else will work? TIA.

Mike, a few years ago forum members Jeff (TacElf) and Art (AKimmel) designed a replacement sender setup, tested by Rifledriver, and sold on the forum.

    Original thread: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/308-328-oil-pressure-conversion-unit.485238/

Current classified listing - Modern oil pressure sensor kit for 3x8, Mondial, etc.: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/modern-oil-pressure-sensor-kit-for-3x8-mondial-etc.567312/#post-145758283

For reference, install documentation is at this link: https://sway.office.com/LVWsbkSxiOXNH6LJ

I bought one of the units, but have not needed to install it yet. Dr. Tommy bought one, as did Brian A, Crowndog, and mwr4440.

While i had mine out, I put a Tee in the line and quality small (maybe 1.2" face) analog gauge on the open spot on the tee, as a backup, just to be sure, and able to read it when working on a running motor under the rear deck, type thing.

Just an FYI, there are different thread sizes so make sure you get the correct one or you will need an adaptor, which is not an issue.

Not hard to change. You just have to remove the oil filter housing.

My 81, as usual, has the oddball threads.

Has ANYONE changed-out the oil filter mount on a (80-82) to use the much more common threaded sender used on other model years?

Will the more common mount fit on a 80-82?

Do both senders send the same or different signals to the gauge?

    Anyone know?

FWIW.......I just bought one of Jeff's and Art's oil pressure sender conversion kits mentioned in GordonC's post (#4).......got it last week.
Price has gone up to $275 from the $250 listed in the 2018 classified ad.
Jeff is a great guy to order from.......no problems.

Are you installing yourself or bringing to a shop? If yourself, can you share how easy/difficult the install process is?

    thank you!

I see you're in San Diego.
I've worked in a Ferrari shop there for 33 years so install is easy for me.:D
    This gives a good overview:

    PM sent.
My car wouldn't have been a good reference anyway because it is getting a longitudinally mounted Cadillac Northstar among many other things.
I got the kit because I want to retain the stock oil pressure gauge and wanted a stable reliable reading for it.
